WOW, when I started this thread i had no idea it would turn into this
So here is my 2 cents, Firstly if someone on here is making $1+ per mile and doing 2000 + miles a week i would be very interested to hear, i have heard average mileage across most of the companies is around 12-1400 a week, if i hear (and i have heard) a company is paying .89 cents a mile for an average of 1500-2800 miles a week, then that's where i want to be based on what i have found so far, simple math really, im new here which is why i am asking questions, however i am not new to the trucking/transport industry, my last job here in the USA i drove an average of 3000 miles a week as a company driver in a semi, I was taking home about $800 a week, if i can not clear at least that expediting in my own equipment, i will find something else to do, i have done the math, if i get the work that i have been told i can get, then all is good, the problem with these forums which is totally understandable, is that the people making a great living want to protect it, so its hard to get a well balanced idea of what can be done without getting out there and finding out for yourself, if there are people out there working hard in their own equipment and making $500 net a week, then they must be doing something wrong, or they are not doing it solely to make a living, or the van expediting business for drivers is seriously flawed. I have made a decision to give it a go, and going by the title of this thread you all know with whom i will be working with.
I would like to thank all the participants in this thread, i have a great deal of respect for all the drivers out there who are working hard and playing it safe, particularly with the onset of winter, i shall look forward to meeting up with you on the road............
