About new drivers with no experiance

Greetings...my experience in Expedite is limited so I thought I would pose this question to the rest.

I have a friend that was laid off from the Oil Industry. He knows something about trucking his father was a driver for more than 35 years. He was asking me (and I don't know) if he got a CDL B could he work expedite with no experience. Would an Owner Hire him on? Either in a Van or Straight?

I searched around some and didn't find the answer...I am sure this has been answered prolly 100 times before-but I have to ask.

Yes, there are owners that will put on a "rookie". My wife and I were "Rookies" and we had no problem getting into a truck.

Ok. Sounds good. I just want to give the right advice. I had thought there had been a young lady here that did that very thing and went over to E-1. I couldnt remember tho.
