AASleeper A/C unit slow moving air flow

just picked my 2006 M2 with a AASleeper and everything seems to run ok and is in very nice shape except for the sleeper A/C unit it doesn't seem to be flowing any air,but it seems as though freon is flowing because the lines or cold it just does not have any air flowing into the sleeper.i am going to call AAsleeper tomorrow just wondering if any of you have had this problem and have some word of wisdom. Also i was reading the owners manual and it said that i shouldn't idle the engine no more than 30 minutes or the turbo will have oil leak problems is this true. THANKS

If the lines are cold, the next place is the fan. Is it running?
If so, look under your bed were the duct work comes out of the unit. Check the whole length for either a hose disconnect, or a kink in the hose that is restricting air flow.
If plenty of air, lines cold to the unit, and still no A/C, it is the thermal control valve or wires to it.

With regards to the engine, I am not aware of any that can't be idled. Not sure on Mercedes which you may have. This has only been a problem with Freightliner Sprinters. The Mercedes truck engine depending on size is close to a Detroit. I have never heard of limitations on them. I would question it and do a little research since it is stating that in the operating manual.
I know the Detroits and Mercedes come out of the same factory so I am not sure what is different?

Not sure if I helped you out or not?

We had a problem with our AA Sleeper AC/Heat control unit mounted on the inside wall dropping it's power lead off the back of the switches. The connector on the male end of the spade terminal just wasn't tight enough to hold on. And the bends made it not really adjustable by needle nose pliers, just bad QC.

We replaced the terminal end and haven't had a problem since.

Freightliner has told me that as long as you advance the idle with your cruise control,no damage will be done to your turbo.

Allways kick it to about 900 or 1000 and you should be fine.

YES I DID SEE THE COMMENT IN THE OWNERS MANUAL ABOUT SETTING THE CRUISE CONTROL HIGHER,I'M JUST MAKING SURE BEFORE I HIT THE ROAD ON THURSDAY WOULDN'T WANT TO NOT BE ABLE TO NOT IDLE,THANKS.
I WILL CHECK THOSE TERMINAL'S IN THE MORNING,BECAUSE IT DOES NOT SEEM LIKE THE FAN IS RUNNING.

Just a little generic tid-bit we learned about turbo care from the late and great Ed Housworth - let 'er cool down before shutting 'er down. In other words after zooming down the highway don't pull into a parking spot and just shut it off. Give the turbo 5-10 minutes at idle to cool down before shutting it off.

They discovered this after replacing a few. Haven't had any turbo problems since. Seems to work for us, knock on wood.

Now watch Dave; sure as I'm sitting here - KABOOM!;)

got up this morning had coffee, then decided to go out and check on the problem.Well the switch seem fine nothing disconnected.so i decided to call AAsleeper and talked with the manager about the problem he tried to a sure me that the problem should be simple must have been something the cargo box company did,so after he made a few calls to the A/c department and installer found out that when it left AAsleeper it was working fine,But the installer told AAsleeper that when it left his area it was not working and no one did anything about it they let it go to the next step which was the cargo box installer?do you believe that.now they are going to send someone here tomorrow to try and fix it a 150 mile drive for something that someone should have checked before it left.one thing i checked was the ground wire, and it had 12 volts going to it.

There are those days that can turn into that:)
Keep your fingers crossed for good luck

Alvin,
Sounds like you covered all the bases. I assume you checked your venting hoses for kinks and connections. If all is well there and the fan is running, it still sounds like the thermal control valve if lines to A/C unit are still cold.
Sometimes it might stick, especially on a newer truck.
A short or low voltage to one of the other connections is the only other thing I can think of?
Let us know what you find.

Simple,Simple,Simple the tech. arrive at my house this morning and went over a few electrical checks and all seemed fine,so he decided to install longer metal screws that hold the unit box down and like magic the fan started to run. i guess the shorter metal screws did not penetrate the metal floor just the wood mounted underneth the unit box so it was not grounded.glad it was something simple.

The ground wire with 12 volts on it is a dead giveaway...the ground should always be at 0 volts referenced to any other ground in your truck. Glad you got it fixed...
