Yes Pete, It is down right rude. I try not to block the fuel island at all. Drivers don't like to wait a half hour after they have already got fuel and coffee and paid for it. What is even worse is when a team does it.

And then the problem that those of us who drive diesel vans face. You pull in to get your fuel and of course there aren't any small nozzles at the truck pumps so you go to the front pumps and there are only one or two pumps that have a diesel nozzle. There are half a dozen gasoline pumps open and there is always some idiot that has pulled his car up to the one pump that has the diesel and he's there buying gas. Then you ask said idiot if he wouldn't mind moving to one of the other pumps so you can get diesel and he tells you that you can wait just like everyone else.

Bottom line: The world is full of inconsiderate people.

well first off i just got of the phone to the PILOT TRUCKS CORPORTATE OFFICE IN KNOXVILLE TN amazing i will be corrected on this if i am wrong but did not the federal govenment say by sept of 2008 all outlet had to have ULSD if so why is there still well over 18 or more pilot truckstops without ULSD ,while i was on the phone i asked the young lady well ok she sound young may have been in her 60s for all i know the pilot policy towards trucks holding others up at the pumps ,

lol no sir nothing we can do about it well i suggested two fix it up one tow these inconsidered jerks out of the way or a better way put in an area stating it was for let say 5 minutes away from the pumps but i know we all see it everyday i know right now if i take a drive up to harbour creek PA ( erie ) go to the T/A pizza hut .subway, and i know there one more some driver would be blocking the fuel island or go two exits up to the pilot wendys or mc donalds i think actually the same thing I KNOW WE GOT TO EAT but why do i or the rest of the trucking world in the USA got to wait for that inconsidered jerk who only CARES for himself & think screw the rest of us as long as i get my belly full ....

Charles,

I don't even ask anybody to move any more. Not worth it. The last one was at the J in Oak Grove, KY. A lady in her Cadillac Escalade was just sitting there, idling. She just finished gassing up and she was waiting there for someone to come out of the store. I asked her politely if I can use the pump since that one was the only diesel pump. She starts telling me that I can use the RV pumps. Well, I just walked away in disbelief. She was sitting there, doing nothing, and had the guts to tell me to go somewhere else. Some people...One minute later, she was probably too embarrassed with me waiting after her, so she pulled away, and I could get in and fuel.

Are you bragging about your big nozzle useage:rolleyes:

I have dual tanks on my straight truck, on the rare occassion I need to use a regular pump, I fill one tank, place nozzle on ground and then turn my truck around. You would be amazed at how many people try to scoot in behind me. I've actually had to get out of the truck and say "excuse me I am still using this pump." Almost makes me want to get a couple of those constuction cones to place out there before I move. One guy tried 3 times to get to that pump while I was making my three point turn.

Oh and if possible I pull my truck forward and then go into pay at truck stops. If I am planning on being in there for longer then 10 minutes I would park my truck. It is rude to block the pumps for 30 minutes or longer

Pete,
There are times when we try to get into the place to fuel and out as fast as possible but no matter what we do, something is messed up where we end up taking a lot longer.

I try to fuel up, get my food and get out of there. The bottle neck is usually the idiots I deal with making my food. But there are some places that have very slow fuel desk people who no matter how much of a hurry you are in, they will be as slow as possible.

Now there is another thing, in some places I won't mention the locations, I refuse to pull my truck from the fuel pumps when I am done. One place on the west side of the state has very little parking and when you pull up, you are on an incline and trucks are cutting it too close to other trucks to get out of the lot - bad design.

Dakota mentioned using a single pump, I had a similar experience with a truck stop in Arizona where that's all they had, single pumps to fuel from with long long hoses. I wasn't the only one who was slinging the handle under the truck to fuel the other tank and the amount of fuel on the ground was unreal. it took me only three times to make it across the truck to fill up.

Yeah gotta love those single pump long hoses, sliding the nozzle and hose under the truck, usually over diesel spills and kitty litter, make for a nice mess on the hands. I really need to get a pair of fueling gloves, because those diesel pumps are always covered in diesel and dirt. I usually pump where the price is the best so sometimes it's at a non truck stop pump.
Oh, in Indiana truck stops usually have the better price, exempt diesel pumps, and I'm under 26K so I don't pay fuel tax

Drivers who park in the fuel lanes are truly inconsiderate. Sometimes, I can scootch my truck out at an angle, using the next lane - but if I'm stuck, and the truck blocking me doesn't move, I will ask the fuel desk to page them to move their truck.

U gotta just let it go! Let it go! Stay calm and just let it go! Breathe in and out. Aghh. In and out. Stay calm. But if you can't, ease up to their trailer and cut the seal on it. Then you will feel much better.

doesn't matter to some people all they care is that they are a head of you

there also same people who make left turn form the right lane when you are in left lane trying to make a left turn
and you are at a stop sign waitting to make a turn and they go around you because you are waitting to make a safe turn

 Oh my gosh, still laughing bluejaybee! Oh my that would be soooo mean! Why didn't I think of it? ROFL That would sure teach'em! My husband and I never, and I mean never leave our truck blocking the fuel isle! That is also a peeve with me! Nothing more irratating then someone being inconsiderate and not pulling forward. Well maybe someone pulling forward and leaving their truck parked so you can't exit the fuel isle after fueling! Yep that's a mean one too! Oh, that was too good bluejaybee. Maybe I'll suggest it to hubby next time we're stuck behind some inconsiderate lout! lol :D

Ten mins later i remembered we are all keyed alike rotflmao i got in the others drivers truck and drove it to the back of the lot and parked it. Got back to mine and left.

Too funny, can you imagine what that driver thought when they walked outside, probably called the company and they told the driver the truck was right there according to qualcomm.
Not sure how sensitive those qualcomm units are, can they tell you exactly where the truck is?

Satellites can be really accurate, or they can be really off - depends on different factors [sunspots?]
Bluejaybee: you're a Scorpio, aren't you? Scorpios are the BEST at getting 'even'. Any more good ideas? :D

OH! SO thats why it's getting harder to find Type2 diesel... that ultra low is cruddy in our tanks. We get horrible mileage with it 8 or 9 measley mpg. And why is it going the way of the California farmer you ask>??? WEll because our great President just realized it's easier for the REAL American to suck up all his Governments mistakes. You know the minnow survivies but the farmers don't, we can just buy our food from China, why not we buy everything from there now... Don't forget the way it used to be... Remember this when mid term elections come around.

As it turned out the driver was a woman and she called in to tell them the truck was stolen lmao. when they located it in the same parking lot they started checking furl tickets and saw that i was there at the same time and called me in. The dispatcher asked me if i moved the truck and i told him hell yes i moved her truck { she was in the shower }He started to yell at me so i got real loud right back and asked him if he would have gotten this mad if he wasn't sleeping with her. He lost his job that day not me she got 3 days off for leaving her truck at the pump while taking a shower. Since it didn't cost them any money to "recover" the truck i got away clean.
