Bill Irons of Irons Fruit Farm in Lebanon, Ohio has, quite literally, created a field of dreams.
Irons, 44, has carved a Reds-centric design into his 12-acre cornfield. The field features a bat-wielding Mr. Redlegs smack-dab in the center. The current Reds logo is cut into the upper left corner of the field, and the upper right sports the classic "C" (reminiscent of the Detroit "D") that the Redlegs used in 1869. A pitcher and a batter also appear, and the space between them is occupied by a "Go Reds" memo.
This is Irons' 13th year creating corn mazes, one of which featured Cincinnati's other major sports team, the Bengals. And, to sweeten the deal, $1 of each customer's $7 admission to the maze -- which opens for business Sept. 1 -- will go to the Reds Community Fund.
