Trust me, we all know what it's like to be on the road and have your cargo all of a sudden transferred...or paperwork snafus appear...miscommunication...an abrupt change in the expedition at the hands of the broker via the shipper's request.
At times, it's enough to make you consider terminating your relationship with the broker. Yes, it is more than maddening, it can be infuriating.
You may even go as far as placing an ad in the "Driver Available" section of EO. That's great...HOWEVER:
Just list your qualifications. DO NOT vent against the broker, even if you do not name them. It doesn't look good for you, understand? Yes yes yes, you need to vent...but a classified ad slamming the broker makes YOU look immature, irresponsible, finger-pointing.
All you need to put out there is what experience you have and your capabilities in the expediting field.
This also applies to fleet owners looking for drivers: so a driver messed you over. It won't be the last one who does, unfortunately, as there are many people in this world right now looking for any job (they think) and find out the hard way that this isn't for them. Sure, THEY go about terminating the relationship the wrong way; but to put the whole sordid story in a "Driver Wanted" classified could quite possibly make a good driver think twice about working for someone so 'thin skinned'.
So to both sides I would suggest: keep it simple, keep the dirty laundry separate from the clean. Just state what you want and what you will and can do.
I was a manager of a small business for many years; I hired many and fired a few; and I never hired a finger pointer or a whiner.
