A camping opportunity in Santa Rosa NM

Cyn and I had the opportunity to tune out a little bit and wanted to share..
If you have the luxury of being on a slow roll in New Mexico (mm273 on the I-40??) do the business route and look for the Santa Rosa Dam and state park.
It is unpopular enough to allow unfettered access for the 40' straight truck and beautiful enough for the excursion off the beaten path.
They have great fishing, great access, real friendly folk and don't care if your camper has a logo on the side.
There is wildlife there so if you are scared...
Nut up and enjoy nature, grill some meat and make new friends.
Many RV folk will be curious and welcome you with envy.
I am working on a project for those of us interested in travel and things to do when expediting, it will be a interactive endeavor requiring photos and descriptions (including a how to description) that may be useful for folk like us.
That being said I apologize for not being a consistent contributer to the forum but I want to do something positive and be remembered for contributing something meaningful.

Did you ever get to go into the Badlands in South Dakota? If not, and you are out that way, it is a "must do"! I will have to look for the business card for where Jim and I stopped and went horseback riding. They also welcome expediters at their RV Park.

Thats the kind of info I am talking about..
My oldest son just went to the Badlands on my advice and he hasn't stopped talking about it yet.
He settled in Worland WY and don't ask me why but thanks me daily for telling him the way to go (was the direction of the badlands the best part of my day is "dad your not going to believe this but..).
I apologize up front for not being reserved or at least articulate when I post but I am enjoying the best years of my life and am overwhelmed with emotion.
I hope all of you are that connected.

i am SO JEALOUS!!! i have tried for hummingbird pics and never gotten anything as good as 49. one wing perfectly frozen one a blur. all in when ans where you are.

Pic #1 is the Lucas mobile, our 40% never complain,never pay for fuel transport vessel to the greatest places on the planet...
She boasts 500 hundred ponies with a Arvin Meritor 12 speed auto and 3:42 twin screws with a worse case scenario of 9.2 MPG and is the envy of many RV folk.
284K and she is without a doubt the finest machine on the road never seeing a wrench.
As for the humming birds I was just lucky..

It really is about" The journey and not the destination" in life. I'm off the road taking care of my wife (cancer) but I do get to catch a few memories from your photographic journey. More of us enjoy the pics than you probaly realize. Great job, thanks again for sharing.

Thanks Moot,
Shot in Program mode on the camera (just bought it and it is completely different from the XTI I had) I set ISO 800 and let the camera auto program the F stop and shutter usually 1/60 0f a second.
The lighting was difficult as the fastest zoom I had was an F4 and these guys are fast.

Thanks Greg that is the ultimate compliment!
Check back as we update often and there are 50+ galleries (a lot of family but plenty of travel) to choose from.

I have more fun on a camera walkabout than anything else I could ever do and I am already selling some prints (a few).
Just sold my Canon 400D (XTI a great camera I might add) and bought a Canon 40D.
Same mega pixels 10.1 but shoots 6.5 frames per second instead of 3.5 and can shoot 1600 ISO with a lot better results (no noise in prints).
Ought to see some of the prints blown up to 20x30 posters
