90% of load to truck

I was talking with another driver and he mentioned there are folks running their own authority paying 90% of load to truck. Does anyone know of any outfits out there paying 90%?

Thanks

Yes there are outfits that pay 90% but most that I know of are just small fleets started by o/o and they make you pay for everything

1,000,000 public liability 100,000 cargo.plus your bobtail

and if your gonna go that far you should just get your own authority
cause the only differance in the start up cost would be $300.00 the cost of the authority.

Ive went this route before it cost about 7-10k per year for the insurance. but you can pay a 25% down payment and the rest in monthly payments that run around $500 per month.

so I guess it really depends on how hard you run but if you average 2,500 per week for example your check would be about $500 more per week than running for one of the well known expediters so in a year you might gross 20k more but would pay out half that in extra cost.
plus most of the outfits that pay that much dont give you advances.

and thats why im dispatchn1 its easier to just get your own authority and just dispatch myself and collect 100%.

of course I dont like to mess with collections so I pay a factoring company 7% and get paid next day on everything I do. good luck at whatever you decide.

Lets see, you pay 10% more for the Authority, 7% for the Factoring, and your comming out ahead while looking for your own loads?

Thats an awfull big chunk at the end of the year paid out for a whole lot more work.

Nothings perfect, but breaking even or slightly above unless I am missing something here does not make sense.

What he said was he gets 100% and pays 7% for factoring. You're right... 17% makes it hard to be worth it. The gig I had last year, with my old cabover, was 7% to the authority and 5% factoring. 12% was well worth it, other than the guy was constantly late with paying me. I also got shafted on my last run's pay... so if you go this route, be careful who you get in with.

I get 93% the factoring company takes 7%.I could get a better rate if I did more volume but I dont want to add more trucks cause its hard enough keeping track of my own paperwork.

I do think having your own authority is well worth it no qualcoms,no dispatchers just run when I want to.I do some work for con-way,panther,tri-state and find my own back-hauls.

I never sit for days at a truckstop.if I sit I prefer it to be at home.and as a single driver I still take 1000+ mile runs

You are correct in that it was trip leasing that I was referring. Conditions and regulations now make it suitable to find a carrier that lets you obtain your own loads and run under their authority.
