Thats right I had a nice layover up near NY and I talked to a few gentlemen and they told me it then proved what they said and showed me paperwork on there getting 82 cents a mile fuel surcharge. & by the way the Total run per mile they average is 3.30 with the fuel surcharge. They were were running step decks. Very interesting, I asked what was the normal gross of the loads they hauled they laughed and said they usualy scaled out 50,000 lbs max maybe 60,000 at times and they were considered light weight divison. Thats very Interesting when Fuel So I here for my own ears is 47 cents a mile.
Very interesting.

You likely are only getting a portion, not what is actually billed to the customer.
Several carriers have stepped away from saying "we pay 100 percent of the FSC".
Why? Because they don't.

That not right the monitary moneys paid for fuel on a load should go to that truck for that load not some where else.
Interesting

Well, IRT you have to play by your carriers rules or find another carrier. Carriers are finding out that they can make good money off the FSC because there is no law in place that says that they have to pass 100% of the FSC on to the person or company that is paying the fuel. The guys in Washington won't do anything to help with this as they are getting campaign from carriers.

those truck gets 2.5 to 4 MPG when loaded, and have normally longer idle time.
FSC is adjusted to reflect that.
47x6.5=3.05 $/G base fuel cost to be paid by the customer.
87x3.5=305
also in that market many a times toll costs are built into the FSC, especially if they run the MassTurnPike.
on the OD/heavy haul divisions, there's way more opportunity to save on fuel cost then traditional trucking.

i'd be very careful before jumping into that boat...you think Expedite is a competitive market ?

Well, what is your company using as a "baseline" thats going to make some difference... It shouldn't be anywhere close to that much.. And you are correct... IF a company is recieving a surcharge then any and all of that surcharge is to go to the vehicle...

Oh my oh my.

You won't see that unless you want to actually work.

Try $4 a mile with a buck a mile FSC, that's a good load.

I hope they don't ever consider a law either, that's just plain stupid to even think about it.

OK...I'll bite. Why would this be stupid? The only ones that would object to a 100 percent pass-through are the ones that are skimming from it.
