I dont know who you are leased to, but sometimes smaller carriers will do a loan to get a driver back on the road. Remeber, if you are losing money, so are they.

Well if your not leased then you must have your own authority.

your insurance should transfer to a rental truck in the event of a breakdown and ryder will rent anyone with a debit card a straight truck.
so tell them to fix it and go make some money.

Ok,,400 people plus have read this post, and that's good, but only about 5% or so have replied. Now if ur gonna run with the big dogs, ur gonna pay big dog prices,,yep labor is usually the price of 2 or 3 times what the cost of the part is,,that's the way it works......I pay it and move on,,,gots to make money , cant make money if ur rig is sitting,,,no brainer there.......roll on....................................................:D

well called cummins today the pump only pays 3.5 hours labor and if thay are a cummins dealer that thay can not charge more than $100 a hour labor and found that you can change one part at a time the pump brakes to 4 pieces and that you do not have to buy a hole pump and the best price i found was $3,600 so ill let yall know what it cost me

Well that's why I asked about the code. The dealer should have handed you a printout of the codes in the ECM and explained to you what the problems is, which one was active and which one wasn't. With 12 different codes and only one that means the entire pump, it would be an easy thing to troubleshoot.

The unnamed Frieghtliner dealer in NY who told me I needed an IJ pump replaced but forgot to tell me that the code actually indicated the engine speed sensor was going which was something like $6000 cheaper to fix.
