35th Anniversary

This morning to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision of Roe vs. Wade, I ate 2 bald eagle eggs over easy and a side of dolphin sausage. Uh, wait a minute. I think bald eagles and their eggs are protected by the federal government. Maybe they were chicken eggs. Is it legal to eat dolphin? What about tuna safe dolphin? Uh, maybe it was really pork sausage. Yeah that's it. Pork sausage and chicken eggs.

Hey I lived to tell about it!

I can't understand the reasoning behind the dolphin thing.

I mean ok they are cute in a sort of ugly way but have you ever worked with them or been around them? They stink.

The same goes for seal lions, my God what a stench. My wife was on the phone with me while I was on vacation in Cal a bunch of years ago and asked me how cute sea lions are up close and I told her I would rather stick my face in used kitty litter than to stand next to sea lions.

I digress....

The other thing is what is up with this Dolphin being Federally protected?

Why?

I want to be able to fish them and eat them like other people do around the world. If we are to embrace diversity mess in its true fashion, then Dolphin needs to be served at the best places, right along with the quarter pounder and fries - "I want a number 14, dolphin sandwich with extra tartar sauce, large coke and fries please"

I heard once that we protect them because they are smart and they are mammals. Well the last time I checked, pigs are mammals too and I think pigs are way smarter than Dolphins, I seen pigs open beer cans and drink the beer and we hunt and eat them, so what gives?

I don't see a stinking dolphin open anything.

I know pigs are used for truffle hunting, when was the last time you were in France and seen a dolphin find a truffle near an Oak tree or for that matter any where?

Remember Arnold Ziffel?

You know that he was not as smart as other pigs but still was able to go to school, play the piano, was drafted into the army and won a trip to Hawaii where he most likely felt like eating a dolphin too when he got there.

What did Flipper do?

Not a d*nm thing I can think of.

Save the planet from emotions, embrace diversity and eat dolphin.

You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, dolphin-kabobs, dolphin creole, dolphin gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple dolphin, lemon dolphin, coconut dolphin, pepper dolphin, dolphin soup, dolphin stew, dolphin salad, dolphin and potatoes, dolphin burger, dolphin sandwich - that's about it.

My post wasn't really about dolphins or bald eagle eggs. I tried to point out what I believe is the ridiculous idea of protecting one species, the bald eagle and not another species, the human.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I agree totally Moot. I don't agree with abortion. Especially when it comes to someone who got pregnant from fooling around and then decides I don't want the kid because I want be able to want I want to do anymore. Give me a break. Find someone who wants to take the kid in and raise it. There are plenty of people out there who want to adopt. Plus I have known of to many women who had abortions at young ages and when they get older they have a hard time dealing with the fact that they killed their child. Things have changed alot recently. I know of a few ladies in their late 30s and early 40s who were forced by their parents to have an abortion so people in the community and church wouldn't look down on them for their daughter being pregnant outside of wedlock. It's a shame. Regardless of the situation. I think Covenant has stickers on their trailers that sum it up perfectly. It's a child not a choice.

federally protected is the manatee of the inter-coastal waterways of fla.

amen for covenant and their message.

one problem in america is that the mothers who give up children for adoption have remorse years later and then sue to get the child back from the only parents it has ever known to live with a stranger. how wrong is that?

there was a case in illinois back in the late80's/early 90's called baby richard who was taken at the age of 8 yrs old from his adoptive parents and give back to the couple who gave him up. the courts always worry about "doing the right thing for the child" but what about the adoptive parents who have to be inspected, detected, selected and disinfected by the states and federal law only to lose a child years later. i for one never want to know that kind of emotional heart break at the hands of the court and lawyers and child protective agencies "doing the right thing for the child". HELL i know 2 people it happend to. They had a brother/sister and were in the final stages of adopting them and the birth parents decided at the 11th hour to fight to keep the kids. these were parents in and out of drug and other rehab programs in and out of state support and they got the kids back. the couple i knew were devastated.

and we sit and wonder why celebs take kids from other countries. why? because once the papers are signed the birth parents can no longer get the child back the adoptive parents are able to be sure the child will be part of the family. why can't it be that way here?

Bald Eagles cannot protect themselves, while humans have free will and can choose to protect themselves or not.

As for abortion, and many other issues, there are far too many people spending far too much time and effort trying to tell other people what to do and how to think. The only person who should have any say whatsoever regarding an abortion is the mother, and, possibly, the father. Other than that, it's no one else's business.

People eat dolphin all the time. It's called Mahi Mahi.

Greg, as someone who's been to Seaworld, I'm completely offended by your post. Don't you know that when they go "eh, eh, eh, eh", they're talking to us? And, did you ever see Arnold Ziffel ride his tail in the water? I think not!

I don't remember what Aronld did, but I sure do like ribs, pork chops, and bacon.

My sister in law told me a joke once. She said don't you think it's ironic that there is a resteruant in Sea Word that serves a fish sandwich? While I was eating one I got to thinking to my self "Am I eating an underacheiver?"

The greatest threat to this planet is Man! Man is the most destructive, thoughtless, selfish creature God has put on this good earth...Man has not contributed one thing to this world!
The world is polluted, animal species going extinct becuase of man....
Take man out of the picture ....now you'd have a perfect world.

Hello OVM,

Man was created in God's image. What is to say that we are not put here to change the world. I think the Wooly Mammoth or Saber Tooth Tiger are not roaming around anymore did man cause that. Was the Ice age caused by man.

I think that we are here to dominate the world not try to make a safe place for other species. The world will change with or without us so let put humans first and not worry so much about endagered species.

We make mistakes but we are only human God knew that would happen but he also knew that we would discover fire and the wheel and make tools. It is good that people back then did not protest the cutting of trees for cover and the pollution caused by open burning. You would not be driving a van supporting yourself you would be raising plants to survive oh you can not do that because of errosion. So man would be extinct is that what you want.

Man has a highly advanced brain. Therefore, he can manipulate his surroundings to suit his needs. To make it so man doesn't do that, you need to take away his brain. Then man dies. Then no one is left to pat the environmentalists on the back for saving the Earth... including the environmentalists.

So Ace...you think man rules supreme...over the domain so to speak? I say yes cause God gave us that when he made us an acsentioned being. But.....
Does man not have a responsibility to take care of this world? It's us who made these creatures endangered! You could say the evolution of man has had bad effects on the rest of the world.

And yes God gave us the free will to make decisions and evolve as we see fit.
And if we taint, pollute and destroy everything that was original it'll be gone for good. Everytime a link in the chain is taken out it gets weaker....The old adage proves so true,
We reap what we sow.

However, that doesn't mean we should revert back to the stone age. Tho there are those environmentalists who would want that. I believe they don't give a damm about the Earth... they just don't like mankind. Those who preach cleaner fuel ignore nuclear energy. They would ignore the good of the nation to prevent us from getting oil from Anwar. I argue that they care more about wanting man to suffer, than they care about caribou. From what I can see, there are three types of ppl who are into global warming... those making money from it; those who want mankind to fail; and those duped by the other two groups into believing.

Your only option is to lay the blame for that squarely at the feet of God.

The old adage proves so true,
We reap what we sow.

Tell it to God. He sowed, now he's reaping.

Or.... are you actually saying that God made a mistake when he created man? Uh, oh.
