I posted this question on the Truck Talk forum and thought maybe I should go straight to the source and ask a recruiter. Does your company allow a tractor/28'pup combination instead of a traditional D unit straight truck?
I have leased on a 28' pup with a tractor in the past here at PTL. Worked out well with the exception that the driver had a trailer that was only 91" wide inside - no way to fit two rows of pallets side by side. Big advantage was the he could haul much more than 13,000 lbs. so got an "E" rate a good portion of the time.
