2012 Hino 338 Turbo and EGR Communication Error

I'm having a problem that mechanic says is "Turbo to EGR communication error"
Put thousands in repairs on this 2012 Hino, it has new turbo, fuel pump, lots of parts in the exhaust system that failed to regenerate on 3 different occasions and each time it was around $3000 , DAF Pump, sensors.
Now the shop says wires are good and they tried to switch the main computer and turbo computer but no difference. They say they have to replace the EGR for another $3000 (CAD).

I'm wondering if anyone has seen this before and which part # I need, $3000 sounds like a lot.. I found EGR valve and EGR pipe, but no EGR board online.. are they separate pieces?

Check the wires in the pass through. The VNT and the EGR share power and ground. I would load test the power. & ground with a test headlamp and verify proper can voltages. I have seen a few Egr valves fail but it seems to me like they are certainly missing something.

Same piece, valve and DC motor. don’t waste your time with aftermarket, buy OEM and get the warranty IMHO.
