Drivers;

The annual Road Check, which takes place June 5, 6 and 7th, is an excellent time to enhance your personal PSP scores (report) and to also enhance the CSA Basic scores for the Carrier you are leased onto.

The more inspections performed, the more opportunity to reduce deficient scores with "clean" inspections.

Tips to help you through any inspections:
* Keep your log book current - that means updating that logbook each time your duty status changes, or at least once every 4 hours;
* Perform extra thorough Pre-trip inspections. Eliminate those lighting and/or mechanical issues that can easily be corrected prior to a DOT Inspector discovering them;
* Clean your truck. Get rid of any old oil leak residue;
* Ensure your permit book, insurance, registration and Annual vehicle Inspection is all up to date;
* Be professional when dealing with the inspectors.

Hope this helps. Good luck to all of you next week.

Never show your log Book to an officer on the side of the scale.
if that happens to you, please take the time to explain that an HOS compliance revue is a part of a road side inspection, and needs to be properly documented to increase your safety records.
