The heavy steer is a class 8 thing in general, not just reefer units. Volvos more than others. I have a friend with a Volvo tractor and he's heavy on the steer with an empty trailer. When he loads it, it takes weight off the steer and he's fine.

You can get a DDEC report at any repair shop that can read your ECM.
