2007 Sprinter - Test Drive Today

Took a spin in a new 2007 Sprinter cargo van today. Just thought I would share my thoughts...

First of all, its bigger. Almost 3.5" of interior height and a couple of inches wider. Also, the long wheelbase is now 170"
(158" on previous version ). The entire vehicles seems much more solid in construction, especially when driving, I notice alot less squeeks when going over irregular roads. The most welcome feature in my opinion is there is now a TILT AND TELESCOPING wheel.... Its about time !!!! The new 3.0 V6 CRD Diesel engine is very very quiet and the increased torque / HP is VERY noticable. I still haven't saw any numbers of fuel economy on the new engine. The seat adjustments are much like that found in Mercedes passenger cars and Volkswagen cars. They have the rotating knob for rake adjustment and a ratcheting height adjustment. I think that remote keyless entry is now standard. The power lock button on the dash is still the same as the previous model, it still doesn't make any sense how to operate it :)

i cant wait to check them out myself, i have a 2005 and love it 195,000 trouble free miles, did find out the price of the 170 in model yet???

I drove this one at a local dealer. They had approx. 10 already on the lot so I would imagine that they are showing up at all dealers. Not sure on prices yet, I don't think the dodge web site is updated yet with a build / config option yet. I looked at the price of the one I drove but it was a short version so I didn't really put any real thought into it.

FL Knoxville had a 3500 cab and chassis and a 3500 high roof long wheelbase a week ago. I don't know what pricing is though.

I found at MSN Auto you can price and build any one of the 3 size 2007 Sprinter Van's with any of the options offered. Also found out by reading the fine print on the 2007 pamplet that if anyone was thinking about going with the new 6-cy gas, STOP!!! it states you must burn at least a min. 91 octane. So having to settle for a van that is not as fuel effiecnt as the diesel, and then having to pay and extra $.20 per gallon does not make any sense. Has anybody found out if they are shipping the 2007 Sprinter diesel's yet to the dealerships, allegedly Damlier was having US EPA problems on the 2007 diesel's? Also has anybody heard a realistic milege figure on the 2007 Sprinter with the new 6 cy diesel?
