2000 fl-70, what do these switches do?

Hello

Just got into a 2000 fl-70 and there is no owner's manual and the fleet owner doesn't seem to remember or know.

On the left hand side there are 3 switches next two the windshield wiper's switch. One of them has a symbol that looks like a squigly line inside a box, the other two have no lettering or pictures on them - any clues?

On the other side of the instrument panel next to the parking brake knob there is an unmarked switch above the rear airbag deflate switch. Any ideas?

Then another one, there is a red button close to the passenger seat - on the instrument panel.

Best I remember is that they are seat ejector buttons. Naw, just kidding. Are they the cruise buttons? Or are they on the right hand side? I can't remember either.

Squiggly line inside a box...sounds like your mirror heaters

other two might be cruise. one one off the other set/resume

I think the red button is for the bumper mounted machine guns:eek:

The red button may be a panic button for the Qualcomm. Call the company you are contracted (the truck that is) and ask them if they show if it is hooked up.

The other ones, well let's see......

If the switch on the right is completely black, chances are it is an engine brake switch. The way to tell is to start the truck up, rev the engine above 1500 and let go of the pedal. If you hear nothing, then flip the switch and try it again. If you hear a click when you take the foot off the pedal, then it is the engine brake.

With a Cummins engine, there are two switches on the left side of the panel, one is for the idle speed, one is check engine system.

I don't know about a cat 3126 but I would assume something like it.

By the way my mirror heater switch is on the door.

That first switch is your Mirror Heater
The second and third according to the manual is cruise control
I think first one turns it on
you can actually try it out while sitting, should be able to idle up your engine to see if it works

Sorry it took so long to download. It is 2.5mb and I have a high speed connection. 14 seconds to download. I don't use computer in my truck so I don't know what is fast or slow in that respect.

BTW> The two switches with the green tops are your cruise as has been stated. Now whether they actually work on your truck is unknown to us.

The one on the left - yeap mirror heat.

The other two aren't cruise control though, those are just above these switches next to the light switches.

Oh well, the mystery continues.

O.K. If you can't download the file, here is what the two switches are that are under the cruise control.

7. Road Light Switch
8. Utility Light Switch, Optional

This is straight out of the manual for a 2000 Freightliner

I tried every way to copy, save to a smaller file or something that I could link it to, but am not smart enough. The manual itself is 238 pages. I have no trouble downloading it at home on high speed, but can see it might take awhile in the truck.

My FL70 does not follow the book at all.

Are the switched ones that you push up and they stay or are they ones that you push up and they return?
