19000 lb piece of crap

I have a 2007 freightliner that is,to put it mildly a piece of crap.It has been out of service for major repairs 6 times in 80,000miles. Injector problems, air leaks, transmission leaks, general transmission problems, power windows, headlights doing funky things, poor engine performance, plus lots of other little pain in the ass stuff. Just curious if any other EO members have had any problems or am I the only one, basically thats what Mr. Happy Pants at Fliner said. Its hard to make a profit at this when the truck is always out of service. Fliner says that this amount of service is normal.Engine is a Cat,trany is a Alison auto. Truck is a M2106 Alumibunk, box and bunk. thanks

That seems like an awful lot in 80k miles. Who at FL says that's normal? I'd have to talk to someone farther up the food chain about it.

Snoop, I have an '07 M2 and my experience has been the total opposite of yours. That guy at the dealership is just hoping to smooth things over. I would aggressively go up the ladder.

Snoop, if your in Ontario don't let anyone other than Toromont CAT touch that engine. They know what they're doing well beyond any FL dealer. Also, if you are having Allison troubles taking it to Harper FL in Mississauga would help. Harper was/is the Allison distributor long before they became a FL dealer, they know Allisons better than anyone.

PM me if you want and I'll give you some contacts.

We had a 2005 M2 with basically the same problems. We traded itin after a year (120,000 mi) on a Sterling. The buyer of our M2 has had only one or two problems since. Go figure. I sympathize with you. On the lighter side, you only have 40,000 mi to go til you hit good times.

I have an allison tranny in my truck and for a while ithought it had a leak but it turns out some knucklehead just put too much fluid I.n the tranny and it would blow out when it warmed up. once I figured that out tranny prob lems
disapeared. Also the tranny will shift weird when the fluid level isn't right. Read your manual with the truck; Allison trannys have an electric readout o.n the gear slector cloumn that can actually tell you how many quarts low or high your tranny is filled.

as for your injectors if more than one failed at the same time it was probally water in the fuel or some other contaminant.
