This week - we broke the 16,000 member mark. 16K!!!!

I know we are not the biggest trucker forum (never will be) but we are the largest community of people who make up the $4Billion surface expedite trucking industry in North America.

Everyday hundreds of people from all aspects of our industry visit this community to see what the buzz is.

Our mission is the same as it was the day we started in 1999 - helping people be successful in expediting. Hopefully, you are a better, more informed driver, owner operator, carrier or supplier after participating in our community. Here's to the next 16K members!!! ;)

Thank You!

Thank you, Lawrence, for providing this place.

It has truly been invaluable to me in seeing what others have had to say on a number of things, from how to best set up an interior for both hauling and comfort, to how to approach a variety of business aspects, to how to weather the ups and downs and back and forths of the often crazy world of expediting.

The archives alone are well worth the time spent, for the wealth of solid info therein.

I encourage all those who come to peruse current and past posts to post your questions, observations, tips, and opinions.

Cool. I would say that EO has helped me make better buisness decisions regarding deadheading and saving money while out on the road. There's some great tips on places to see and eat at while on the road. Its also a great place where someone who's never expedited before can know what to expect. If I'm out here at the yard and I see a driver that doesn't know a thing about expediting I always advise them to visit this site and read a bit about the buisness.

Many of us have expressed that a 1000 times and I never got an answer. Surely there are many who would like to comment on vans, sprinters, t/t and so on and never say nothing. I have met many in my short time on the road that never have heard of EOL and have been out there for years. I guess the 25 or so posters in here know it all , lol............................................................ I don't think so................

Deville - please share how the EO community has helped you...

:)

I learned a great deal about the expediting business that I jumped into blindly when I made it the focal point of revenue when I started my business nearly 10 years ago. I came from a trucking & express freight background so I alreadly had pretty good knowledge of the industry. A lot of the knowledge I gained here re-arfrimed what I alreadly knew & helped me build upon my business.

What I really learned the most about was the inner workings of a Diesl engine, in particular the CAT 3126, the Cummins & the MBE that replaced the CAT 3126.

Outside of this forum, another expedite forum that doiesn't have much traffic & an RV forum i joined there really isn't much info on these motors.

This forum also made me more intrested in the history of trucking & to try & find as many trade lines possible so I can be ontop of trucking & expedite current events.

The tax forum has been helpful. The tax forum has helped me help my preparer who did not have a trucking back ground & I opened his eyes to diffrent aves of deducations.

I have tried to give back as much as I have taken from the forum. I always try to give the best answer as possible & not clog the threads with off topic banter.

I try to post in the Newbies forum as much as possible if there is a need to. I find experiance is the best teacher & i'm more than happy to share it.

I enjoy the arcade to. We need the game driving mad. It's a golf game. It has provided me with hours of mindless play killing time. It's very useful when I can't sleep.

I only found this website a couple of months ago but have found it to be a real gem. One drawback from my perspective not as many regular posters doing tractor trailer. Smaller truck operators seem to be the prevailing "average poster" here, which is fine. Honestly, I wouldn't know how to price myself in a smaller truck if my life depended on it. But I'd like to learn. Never know what I might decide to do later on down the road, and this seems to be the place to learn things expedite. A little slow - as in not very much posting in the course of a day - but still it's a great tool. Regardless, a guy can learn a lot from other o/o on a forum that help improve how he runs his business just by reading, or even learning about the things he doesn't know just because he doesn't know. Lots of people out there content just to read.

EO is where I found my first expediting opportunity. It is also the first place I turn for news affecting expediting, truck questions, business advice and to generally vent on expediting related issues. Thanks for being there guys.

I got this crazy notion to go expediting and placd an ad. Had numerous offers by the next day at 10am.
Called my Carrier and said I had an urgent need to get home. They quickly got me a load to Ind.
I found a 24 hr clinic and did physical over the weekend.
Overnighted stuff to Carrier for Monday. Had a seat in a truck laid over in Dallas. Flew down and was ready to start learning expedite.
Eight days from idea to in a truck.
Accouple of years later I started paying attention to EO.
It's the first tip I give anybody that asks me about the industry.

Congrats! 16000 members, but yet I only see the same 25 or so posting on a regular basis.

There is a difference between being a member and being a member who posts in the Open Forum. If you want to see a photo, you must be a member to log in. If you want to communicate with someone who is running an ad in the Free Classifieds, you must be a member to log in. If you want to communicate privately with someone who posts in the Open Forum, you must be a member to log in.

For whatever reason, and perhaps for no reason, 16,000 people have, at one time or another, signed up to become members. That fact alone indicates the continuing interest is and relavance of EO in expediting circles and in the greater transportation industry.

It is also true that there are expediters out there who have never heard of EO, even though they have been in the business for a long time. It surprises me everytime I meet someone like that but it happens every now and then.

Look how many times someone joins to ask questions about expediting but decide it is not for them or people like me that started and realized it wasn't going to work. It seems there are also a lot of people that want an opinion on what they are doing or a recommendation on something like insurance that get their answer and go.
