70lbs isn't bad, it isn't like he will rip up the place like my beagles would.

I have seen bigger dogs in trucks, even a couple of great danes.

I would say the dog thing is doable, especially with a friendly happy dog. The only problem I do see is dog hair but again that is a lot of work for anyone.
No, he won't rip anything up....He's the most mellow dog in the world.....He's such a good boy.......He's anyones perfect dog.....And he hardly sheds at all...

Hi MissBuddy and welcome to EO! :)

As others have said on here, don't give up on your sweet pooch until you have exhausted all other possibilities, and talk to any prospective fleet owners that you are considering driving for about your dog. Keep in mind however that the sleepers are small and if your dog demands a lot of physical activity it could cause a bit of a problem. With that being said however, it's definitely not unheard of to have a large dog in a truck, as others have stated. Just the other day while at a fuel island there was a tractor next to us that had a beautiful, and quite large, German Shepard sitting in the passenger seat. :)

Sorry but I would give up the driving before I gave up my boys. Darlin' having already spoken to your hubby rest assured if this is what you wanna do, the rest of your family (the hairiest member) would be welcomed here in one of our trucks. You handle all those kids up there so I KNOW you could handle one lil pooch in a truck. I

We would NEVER require people to give upt heir pets......as a matter of fct I have refused to hire a team that just said oh no we will get rid of the dogs...(they were 7 and 9 and been with them since puppies.) That kind of loyalty I can do without. We had 2 siberian huskies on our truck for years....they loved it and we love them.

Actually that does say a lot about the person.

I guess I can't follow the logic of turning back a good qualified team that actually "wants" to work hands free, steada nurse maiding a couple dogs.

Musta been other discriminating factors.

Those of you that keep pets with you on the road must have waayy more time on your hands than I did out there.

Sometimes it is not a business thing but a show of character. I learned with employees that the ones who were taking care of my equipment and made sure things were locked up were the people who took the time to take care of personal responsibilities at home. Pets are a better indicator, more so than children but again I don't know about the time thing.....
