102" Tall Box Height on New Truck

Hopefully someone cans shed some light on my dilemma. I am looking to purchase a new box truck with a 102” tall box on an Isuzu, Ford or any chassis that will accept that box height. The length of the box will be about 18’ long. I am assembling cabinets that are 91” tall and would like to slide them in and strap them to the wall without having to lay them down. Isuzu states that they cannot put a 102” on their frame but rather a 96”. The 96” with the door open is about 91ish” tall when the door is pushed up all the way. Does anyone have insight on getting this combination to work on something that is not a large size truck something like the size of a E450 would be nice.

Your body builder, or sales dealer should have that answer in minutes.
What have they installed 102" high bodies on ?

I know this isn't what you asked about, but if you do not need dock high, how about a 450/550 size cab/chassis and a tall goose neck trailer ?

There are many reasons to choose the box truck. You may see reasons this would be good.
Walk in loading access to me would be a big thing, if it would work for your application.

Race car trailer with tall sides and roof comes to mind. You may could get away with conventional pull but the gooseneck will be much easier to control. Make sure you get dexter rubber torsion axles. Leaf springs will beat your cargo up to much. Also, you can get 2 high capacity axles or 3 lower capacity axles. The more axles will help give it a smoother ride.

Thank you for the input. I dont want to deal with a trailer as it becomes too much of a pain to negotiate. The barn doors was always at the back of my mind but didn't know if it would be a pain to swing them open all the time. I am looking at the Isuzu with a Dejana box on the back. The only issue might be them forcing me to go with a Diesel NRR or NQR to handle this size box. I was leaning towards gas as I will only put on about 15K miles per year and didn't think the extra expense was worth it.

Would a 97 or 98 box help ?
If they're building it custom they should be able to do that. ( for a price)
A very off the wall idea would be to put a
storage unit type rolling door, upside down, so it roll up under the floor.
I can picture it in my head.
You'd have to be creative with the ICC bumper, but it's doable if you have room.
I don't like barn doors but in your case they make sense.
Even look at non-traditional like a bi-fold barn door to see if it helps your application.
Let us know what you figure out.
Good Luck.

At 15,000 miles per year I'd be looking at gas.

I agree, if they won't do it on a npr gas look at a e-450 or f-450/550 from ford. Someone else mentioned it earlier and it's a pretty good idea if they won't do it on the isuzu.
