I think most city bus services are subsidized. They should be forced to stand on their own two feet. So should AmTrack. There is no excuse for running a losing project.

How much did the government spend on those coupons for the digtal tv converter boxes because TV is an American right,but nearly all the low income apartments here have satellite dishes. what a big waste of money.

I guess they would have to start EARNING their way through life like the rest of us do!! What a strange concept. EH?

My Mom works at a CANI preschool, they are required to do home visits etc. She said most of these "low income" people have an apartment full of high end electronics and furniture and come to pick up their children in Cadillac Escalades etc, wearing expensive name brand clothes, leather jackets. Most do not work at all and know how to "work the system"
Meanwhile my Mom who works full time barely scrapes by and drives a 1995 Honda Civic that runs well but is not very nice looking. Really sad if you ask me. And to think we are paying for these people who don't deserve the help.
