first step in killing the jobs bank was a good one. paying people to do nothing is kinda stupid. now lets see, toyota cars average 35+ mpg and gm cars are quite proud of their 24+ mpg. my 1998 dodge ram gets 12. and i duno about ford.
12 mpg doesn't bother someone who only drives their truck 19 miles a month, to and from the tractor. but someone commuting 50+ miles per day, 12 mpg isnt going to fly, so lets revive the gas hogs and see if they sell, camaro, mustang, and of course the challenger with a hemmi.
anyone else see a problem with that idea, cause i sure do, especially when gas hit 4 bucks per gallon. the whole idea of Americans love their cars is true, but only if their cars are affordable. if you cant afford to make the payments, insurance, and feed the guzzling beast, then it becomes a hunk of metal in the driveway that is costing you to sit there.

Shame on us all !!

Be American, Buy American.

How about the TV you bought ?? The Microwave ??

Your cell phone ??

yada yada yada.

I say: "Buy Quality, and the market will reward those who care ! "

Those who frequent the trouph more than they should, will eventually disappear due to being too greedy and looking for something somebody else paid for.

Show me a successful expediter and I will show you someone who cares about qaulity.

Down with the free meal !!

Hope your truck and expedite business passes Chinese requirements.

I for one will do my best to support North American products as the folks that manufacture them fill up my truck so I can make money.

Everyone who thinks a service and knowledge based economy will support the expedite industry needs to give their head a shake.

Isolationism isn't the answer to the country's problems. "Buy American" is an antiquated idea in this day and age because we live in a global economy. In the end that will be a good thing for all of us. Those of us in trucks aren't dependent only on what is produced in the U.S.

The bottom line is that the U.S. has lost it's competitive advantage because right now we aren't producing anything more efficiently than other nations. We don't even have a comparative advantage in that we do not have any resources or products to offer to the global market that can't be made cheaper and more efficiently elsewhere.

I think if the unions and auto industry would get off their duffs and start building affordable cars that are of high quality then we would see a drastic turn-around. But they are stuck in their ways from the CEO's down to the union workers.

And that's only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to our nations industrial and economic problems.
