08 E350 hightop

I am looking at getting starting a career into expediting. I found a 08 E350 hightop online w/ 1787 miles but they did not list the cargo area length? Here is what they do say about the van:
Seamless integration of hightop conversion, both lightweight and aerodynamic !
75" Rear door clearance
73" Side door clearance
6" taller than Sprinter hightop and slightly wider footprint for more cargo!
500 cubic feet of cargo room!
Walk-in convenience with 3900 lb. payload

Does anyone have a van similar to this? Would this van qualify for Sprinter pay rates? I am looking at signing on with All State Express.. Any suggestions??

Also they want $24,800 for the van. Is this a fair price?

Thanks

Dan

That sounds like a great price. There is currently an 08 E350 van with 100k miles for sale in the free classifieds for $34k. Jack Berry is one of the more prominent EO posters and that is what he ran. He was happy with it and I thunk personally, I'd chose the Ford HCV over a sprinter because maintenance and servicing a Ford will likely be easier than servicing a Mercedes.

The extended length version is where it's at though, payin for the height isn't as worthwhile if you don't have the length imo.

You can see Jack's set up if you find a post of his, then see all the threads he started, the pics / setup is called "amazing discount", it's a really nice setup.

Sounds like a HCV..and yea the price is right, but I can tell you without the added length, while you will get more loads then a regular CV, you will still be limited and lose loads to the bigger Sprinters and Cargo Max type units with the longer load floors and the ability to haul 3 skids or just longer freight..

Oh, I watched a guy tear the bulkhead out of his van that he had installed when he was with FedEx...he moved to another company and was losing bigger loads because he had limited his load ability with that wall...the Fed limits CV & Sprinters to 2 skids, no matter what...

Thanks for everyone's response!! After talking to the dealership I found out that that van does not have cruse control. I am waiting for a quote on how much it will cost me for them to install cruse control. If the price is right on that then I will be jumping into the business with two feet

Alot of places can install cruise, probably cheaper than the dealer can...but if the dealer does it it will probably be a factory system, with the controls in the steering wheel etc.

Have you found out if it's the extended version? If it is, and you decide no cruise control is a deal breaker, I'll pay you $20 for the dealers contact info provided that it's available for sale.
