I'm always happy to hear a trucker say he's doing well. I'm just reading the writing on the wall. I think there's a good chance they will go all flat rate.

Oh and yes the FedEx Freight truck was a little creepy, LOL.

"I seriously doubt that there are any WG trucks out there running for $1.35 per mile, we are only a surface D unit, and we don't even run that cheap". That was obviously a made up example to illustrate a point. I see you don't disagree with the point I was making. It seems there is no dispute...

For those wondering how EOBR's and log books are infringing on freedom please read your 5th Amendment. Very good point.

Yes they do....sometimes. I know for a fact that they also get outside carriers at lower rates.

Leo, thanks for that explanation, now it makes perfect sense when they say "oh my freedom is gone". What are you talking about?

"They always used freight facilities for cross docks and inter-company pickups." I was told there was a new agreement with freight about their facilities. I believe they can work on trailers now as well. "Actually they didn't hire anyone, CC is part of the freight division, which means if any...

    1. I was an O/O E unit. 2. I've been told white glove has a flat rate program now as well. As far as how it affects you, just think about that, if the company can give a load to a truck that's running for $1.35/mi or to you and you're asking, say, $1.70/mi, who do you think they are going to...

Your immediate obstructionism and blatant defense of FedEx is really bizarre. We ought to be able to share factual negative information about the companies we work for to help others make informed decisions about employment opportunities. Either you believe in free speech or you don't. If you...

Good luck. Sounds like we are on the same page when it comes to freedom in this country. I find too many Truckers walk around like sheep thinking there is nothing they can do to change the special interest cesspool that politics in the transportation industry has become. Please, speak up, stand...

You're not saying FXCC is the only place to make money are you? Like I indicated on the original post, revenue is going to be headed south in that company, on average, you can always point to exceptions. I've talked with several O/Os that have been with the company since before FedEx took over...

Shouldn't we support the companies that don't march in lock step with the government? That was part of my original point.

There are plenty of trucking companies that are not rushing to shackle everyone with EOBRs.

I'm not giving up on OOIDA, I'm a member and I strongly support what they are doing. There's a little thing called the 4TH AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION that they have on their side. The big trucking companies are in on all this EOBR BS. If the Mexican trucking program goes through that will be...

EOBRs are NOT a mandate yet and won't be if OOIDA can win in court. All contractors have been asked to sign on with SmartWay. True, I don't know if it's actually required at this point but I'd bet that it will be at some point.

I started with them in the fall of 09. I don't think any of what I mentioned was going on at that point. I was new to OTR and expediting. Things got ugly in a hurry.

They were undermining us with the "flat rate program" and "outside carriers" like FedEx Freight. They mandated the use of EOBRs on all trucks. They are requiring contractors to sign on with the EPA's SmartWay. That means mandatory speed limiters are coming soon. I'm DONE!
