Loves Truck stop Florida kicks out truck drivers for Bike week

Cracks me up because most of the truck drivers I know ride motorcycles also (not just Harley's)! Love's needs to get a clue to this. It's not what you ride - it's that you ride.

How will the New Hours of Service Rules Provisions affect your O/O business?

Paullud - I like the response on many 16 to 17 minute breaks. These were the things I was looking for when I started the post or thread. What ideas do you have to help other drivers "work with" these new regulations. Nice work guys - keep 'em coming.

How will the New Hours of Service Rules Provisions affect your O/O business?

Highway Star; Most of us could never do what you drivers do. When my body says sleep - it means sleep - Period! Heck, even my partners can't stay awake during the day.

How will the New Hours of Service Rules Provisions affect your O/O business?

"I believe we can say with certainty that it will lead to cheating on log books and HOS violations all due to the ignorance of our job by regulators." Paullud; You are hurting my sensitive Safety Director eyes having to read such a thing! I think what we will see is that these new...

How will the New Hours of Service Rules Provisions affect your O/O business?

I've recently been corresponding with some Owner Ops on their feelings how the new HOS Regulations that will become effective mid year 2013 will affect their operations. The crux of the new rule changes are: * THE MANDATORY 30 MINUTE REST PERIOD * May drive only if 8 hours or less have...

    Getting started in Expediting?

WATrucker; Washington State is just not a hotbed for the Expediting Industry. You will need to seek out one of the larger carriers - Panther, Fed-Ex Custom Critical or LandStar for a chance at being successfiul in Expediting. I like your idea of driving someone else's truck first. You will...

We require you to have a minimum of $25,000 cargo insurance...

In the past I dealt with a claim where a freight broker had our insurance cert showing $250k cargo insurance. The broker's customer placed a shipment valued in excess of $3 million on our truck without notifying us, nor the broker of the actual value. The owner operator leased on to our...

    Recruiters please answer this question

Ccochran09; Alas, a safety director and recruiter all wrapped up into one to your rescue. From what you are telling me of your MVR, I would say that you might be eligible for hire at some carriers after next month when you have a violation come off, and be down to three violations. You...
