Ok I guess I am a dumb Midwestern hick and seem to p***ed someone off so much that the attacks seemed personal – oh well, what a loss to me. If some would read my post, I also said this is not for everyone. Well I guess you are right; it is dead out west, all I heard from the people who...

What's The Best Solo Friendly Company

OMG - what a bunch of c**p!!! Man a few of you made this so complex, simplify people S-I-M-P-L-I-F-Y. phatTweaker You wrote; “I got an offer to drive a 22' D-Unit as a solo on a 60/40 split with me getting the 60%+FSC and paying for fuel and tolls. The truck was previously on with...

Hey I am going to add something here. If I could get out west I would - no hesitation! Why? Money. If there are not a lot of trucks in the west does this mean (possibly) that there is work out there for the few who want to work? I would think so! DUH! Also there are solos out there in the...

Hit by 18 wheeler in AR, damage to look for.

Glad no one was hurt. Maybe I don’t know how the commercial insurance works now-a-days, but here is what I would strongly recommend. Of course I assume you have insurance. First (of course you did this) call the insurance company. Get names and if possible be there when an adjuster looks...

will fedex sign on a sprinter based in texas?

I would say yes, but call FedEx CC. I know of two that 'converted' to FedEx CC two or three weeks before I did. I think they are from the Dallas or Austin area.

your welcomed A new van? does not matter, sometimes it is a bigger problem if you have more down time with dealer issues. mine is a 1999 and it really gets a work out, but I totaly trust it. I would put a little more away but it is doable.

NO HELP FROM THE TRUCKER'S HELPER

    My Views on China

Tallcal101, Ok? I got to tell you assumptions are dangerous, I think that emotions are driving your responses, which are all right but I do appreciate your comments. Brainwashed? Sorry I can’t agree and here is why. I read the following as much as I can; London Times, New York Times...

    start up cost

I would say $5K min realistically. This will allow you to get started (hotel cost, food, supplies etc..), pay the bills and have some left for any problems. Figure three months to get up to speed to build some reserve. Of course this is outside the expenses like truck payment, insurance etc...

NO HELP FROM THE TRUCKER'S HELPER

Actually I have to add something here. Many know that I worked in IT supporting large applications, large groups of people but an alter life I had was a lot to do with software development and support. Among a lot of things, I did scripting and testing of install packages. First thing is...

The Impact Of The Big Three On Me

Moot RIVETHEAD is definitely outdated, but I do agree with you about appreciating the outside world after reading it. The book, the author and even Michael Moore for that matter come from a different time, a time where the UAW and the auto company still meant a life time (sort of) job and slobs...

The Impact Of The Big Three On Me

OMG Cheri1122 someone else knows who Edward Deming is, WOW. Where did you hear about Deming? I have to say first all the auto companies - even the Japanese now - are not using the Deming’s14 points or his simple formula, which I may add goes along with Gilbreths' time studies and...

The Impact Of The Big Three On Me

I agree that cars don’t appear to break down, but I can say my brother-in-law makes six digits working on cars and does not seem to have a lot of time to even talk. There are still a lot of cars dropped off at his shop. I think that .... ok .... maybe that they are more dependable to a point...
