Joe Gibbs to do it in the dirt in '08

Hope Coy can ride a bike better than he drove the PU. Ouch but boy he was a danger out there to himself and others. Also Joe Gibbs is going to Toyota next year. Got a deal no one could pass up. Good luck to both of them. P.S. I can make fun of Coy, cause he is a great guy. Was always fun...

    unpaid miles

11K miles total @ 9.5 mpg X 2.75 = 3,184.21 in fuel. 1.50 per paid miile (estimate) is 10,500. Take out $ to Owner or your truck expenses payment insurance tolls. 3,184.21 minus 10,500.00 plus your expenses of operations of the vehicle 7,315.79 is just whats left after fuel. Its not...

If you turn down loads ,will your company fire you

RE: If you turn down loads ,will your company fire Brings back memories of the Cleaning Business. Some customers wanted a spotless building at a Discounted Rate, once we were in a building for two months and we found that the two hours a night or week what ever the customer wanted for us to...

    D Units on the Highways

So what is the name of your company Col? Names that I do not see here by advertising, Fast Expedite, #1 Expedite, BTO Express, A&J, etc..... Just seeing more and more of private small companies than the big FECC or Panther. See almost as many E unit panthers as I do Ds.

Driving solo for an owner ...

There is nothing I would have done different. Owning my own Truck from Day ONE, being in charge of all decisions for when to maintain, wash, fuel, where to go etc... There were enough of you here to contact for advice. All of the posts on here about problems JUST NOT WORTH THE INVOLVMENT...

How Do You Secure Your Freight?

First I do feel it is way over kill. Second no Cargo Claims good Job. I secure a light product like that to the wall and E track one bar side not three to each side. Time is also $. I say that cause I also have never ever had a Claim. Docs point, GREAT.... I wondered why those nails are...

    D Units on the Highways

I have been seeing more D Units with no name companies than name brand companies out here all summer. Panther seems to dominate, where FECC use to be on top now they do not even hardly seem to be out there. What gives? Unless its a special White Glove kinda Truck the regular D-Unit seems...

Hey, your back door is open...

Keeping it locked while backing into a Dock is the least of my worries. Barn doors have larger openings, less expensive to service. Thus both those factors keep more $ and another run in my pocket. So whats the other reason for ROLL UPS? Like I have something to worry about getting stolen...

    Low sulfur fuel

I stay away from it Ultra Low Sulfer, 500 parts per million is what I would look for on the pump othewise a few gallons and on to the next Fuel location even if it means throwing that receipt in the trash. I am not showing a fueling for 10 gallons.

    Ladyshooters dilema?

Once I run with it for a while I will post again. Does not void warranty if the oil measures high quality. These filters do a far better job than the Original Equipment Filters would. But if it did, than I would change the oil as requested knowing that this fluid is being cleaned to brand...

    Is HOS regulations changing?

Pulled into the VA scale house last Sunday to ask this exact question. Here was the response. "Driver do not concern yourself about that, its not happening we have not heard a word" Direct quote from the D.O.T. in VA. Its not on the horizon, for what my word is worth.

    Anyone Follow Baseball ?

Sox Suck? and the Yankees do not? Would much rather see the sox in the World Series than the Yankees, heck I would rather see Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore, Toronto, Tampa, Minn., K.C. Angels, Oakland, Seattle, Texas, anyone in the A.L. other than George and his WALLET. Did I...

    B.O.L.

The last time it was raining really, really hard. Did your paperwork get a little damp? The ink with those new pens just seems to smudge away once it is wet. Saw a old expert with a Great Idea. At Averitt for our bills that stayed with the trailer we put all that paperwork inside of a zip...

    Journey

It is going much better than I projected. The truck is averaging 7.2 right now for ALL GALLONS 8 trips so far back and forth. At one point it was 7.5 than I just had to try going 220 to 81 to 460 to 77, way to many hills for fuel economy thats what brought it down to 7.2. Customers are...

    Rigmaster owners...

I am considering another Pro-Heat/Carrier for new used ride. This time it is comming with me. 5 hours to remove 18 to install. (I got this in writing if I decide to purchase.) My Pro-Heat was terrible at first, the first one and half years I know it was down 13 or 14 times. TSI did the...

    FL

The rule I used was I had to be North of NC or TN so I could factor in the DH miles. First three loads I took last year to FL, I waited couple of days and than left on my own nickle back to Columbia (Atlanta was to hit and miss for C&M). I had 2,100 DH miles back to back to back for three...

Thanks everyone. Today will be my first day out. Two turns this week should finish up Saturday PM, and be picking up for three next week. Broker is excellent. Gona enjoy the consistancy, waiting for loads just did not fit my work ethic. Waiting for Averitt, heck I was busier as an Expediter...
