First and foremost if a major repair will hurt you that bad your not ready to be in expediting, second a 2002 will be hard to find a carrier to take it on, most want nothing older than 6 years. Third if your gonna pull the trigger on a box truck I would go with Ryder, Uhaul seems to run theirs...
Back in the day with PTL I was making a solid $1800.00 a week for about a year and a half, till that customer got production caught up and they started shipping LTL. After that I was doing $800-$1300 a week.
Just start calling carriers,my last Van was a 1995, look over there<~~ it was on with PTL. Some will take a older van but they will inspect it before signing on the dotted line. Made good money with it.
2 carriers, Maybe depends on the carrier, getting a load off a load board, again it's a maybe depends on the carrier, and if they allow it the will take a cut of the pay, bring truly a independent you can if you work hard enough.
Way back when I bought a new van, I did first oil change at 3000 miles. Then switched to full Syn Mobil 1. Then changed the oil at 10,000 there after. I got 700,000+ on it before it died.
Hotels..once in while it gets old living in a tin can, 45K clear in a cargo van, your gonna have to hustle. As for seeing the sights....nope 80% of your driving in at night not much to see in the dark.and after you drive all night and get empty it's sleep time.
I never had a transfer in my life, however the most I did straight thru was Detroit to Orlando just stopping for fuel a a couple of 15 min power naps..... Oh to be young again!
