    sprinter fuel milage

The Sprinter computer is programmed so that, basically, you can have an accurate odometer and an inaccurate speedometer, or an accurate speedometer and an inaccurate odometer. It all depends on whether your Sprinter's ECM was programmed for 15" or 16" wheels. If you Sprinter has 15" wheels...

Good example. Notice that table has no Curb Weights at all listed. If you look at the standard and maximum weights of the 2500 170-in and EXT versions, they kind of don't make sense, but when you compare those to the curb weights listed in other published tables, they simply don't even add up.

    Prayers Needed Please

There is nothing particularly extraordinary about the accident, at least insofar as the Panther truck's involvement in it. These were two separate and distinct accidents. If the published account is true, then the Panther truck was following too closely, and caused a rear-end collision of the...

I agree. And this certainly isn't unique to this forum or to truckers. It's an Internet-wide pandemic. Communication is simply imparting information. When it's not received or understood by anyone, it's one-way communication, and when you're trying to get others to understand what you are...

    landstar?

I've never driven for them, so don't take my comments with a grain of salt, take them with the entire salt lick. Landstar seems to keep its drivers moving, according to comments from Landstar drivers. They apparently have a relatively low turnover rate, especially for vans. Once drivers sign...

Can you top this? Loads cancelled

I dunno. I had three dry run cancels within 90 minutes. Had started to roll on every one of them, too. Easiest deuce and a quarter I ever made. :)

    First post with questions

If you don't want to start out driving for a fleet owner first, if you are hellbent on getting your own truck and doing it for yourself, with an $1,100 a month note (yikes!) then don't even turn the key to start the engine unless you have a minimum of 5 grand in the bank. I mean it. There will...

Well, that's the thing. They don't explain how you get to the optional GVW. In previous models years they had tables laid out that showed the relationships between empty weight, payload capacity and GVW, for each length and height, so you could see exactly what you are getting, and it showed...

    Flying J WiFi

Looney2: No, WiFi is WiFi, and if you have WiFi that will connect at motels, the same WiFi will connect at the Flying J.

    Parking solution

I'm not really criticizing Coco, per se. I'm just saying I don't get it. I don't understand. "IMHO she did the right thing, hell if the mall won't let you park why should you shop and subsidize the malls rental revenues." If they won't let me park at a shopping mall, I'm not going to do any...

    bad apples

Couple, three, years ago, I was on I-70 headed out of St Louis to KC. Traffic was moving along at a nice little clip. I was in the right lane, not being passed, not passing anyone, and I was going about 80. A bus blew by me so fast I thought I was going backwards. May be the fastest I've ever...

    Trucker Slang (revised again)

RE: Trucker Slang (revised) It's not trucking slang, it's trucker slang. :) Most are slang used on the CB radio. Like, when a 4-wheeler cuts in front of you and then immediately dynamites their brakes.

    Thanks to Cracker Barrel

Oooh, Good idea. Yeah, which one? They're all great, though. Good food, good people. California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, those people out there have no idea what they're missing.

    Flying J WiFi

Flying J's signal tends to be rather weak, especially for those of us sitting in the car/RV lot. Nothing worse than having a marginal signal to begin with, and then have an RV or something pull between you and the building. Most truck stop Internet connections are via satellite, which isn't as...
