    Front License Plate?

Well, The plates are to go where your state tells you to mount them. I bet a Richfield, Ohio Cop a $100.00 that Ohio only has one plate because he was going to write a ticket for only having one plate on the truck. He wasn't so Happy when OSP told him that trucks over 26,000 lbs have only one...

Drivers want to go to 18% from 20%

George, not telling you how to run your trucks because you do a great of that and your one of the best owners at FedEx/Roberts Express that I have known over the years. By not making your drivers pay Work Accident Insurance that makes them employee's not contractors. I ran into this at the court...

Drivers want to go to 18% from 20%

Thanks Steve. I just think it's a win/win for everyone. I put this out on the table about 2 months ago for the drivers and then they came back to us because they thought it would be better for all of them. We gave them a choice.

SPLIT AND A TERRIBLE OWNER-OPERATOR AGREEMENT

I would have to say that JohnO is a very honest guy and I met him at the Expo this year and even sent him a copy of the lease we have our drivers sign. 85/15 sounds like a lease to own deal. Some can be good and some can be bad. It depends on how new the truck is. Everyone think that if an owner...

Drivers want to go to 18% from 20%

    >This whole thread is rather confusing. Dave if you seen the way FedEx settlement sheets are now you would understand what we are talking about. Since the new FSC program rolled out it takes us about 1 hr and 1/2 longer to do drivers settlements. It's just easier on everyone in the long run...

Drivers want to go to 18% from 20%

Yes Marvin you was paid that way, but I'm sure your 1st owner had his reason and we have our reason's. But you also had to buy a bus ticket to his house everytime too. That's why he gave you 20% of everything.

    Home For The Holidays?

Going to be home for Chritmas this year and we are asking our Drivers to be home by Friday the 22 of Dec. No load is worth being away from home during the holidays. We had a team that got a load to Alaska over thanksgiving but it wasn't really worth it. If any of you get offered a load to Alaska...

Drivers want to go to 18% from 20%

    >Why would you pay a percentage of the FSC to the drivers if >you are paying for the fuel? Did I understand that right? Yes we pay the fuel and tolls, the drivers pay the work accident insurance. Each driver gets 20% of the gross of the truck minus the FSC and tolls money. By doing it this...

Drivers want to go to 18% from 20%

Thanks Leo and Cheril We try to listen to the people who drive for us. Sometimes not everyone agrees on everything but for the most part we have some great driver's in our fleet.

Drivers want to go to 18% from 20%

I have had about 8 of the 10 drivers we have want to change thier pay from 20% of the gross of the truck each, minus the FSC to 18% of everything. Our one driver made a program up for our fleet and it keeps the numbers both ways and it comes out almost the same but just a few more dollars to the...

    Beware of Cummins motors

After looking at the pictures of what went wrong it was not Cummins fault at all. What was found was the Freightliner dealer didn't put the cam gear on the right way causing the Key way to the cam to get loose and then caused the truck to get out of time, which caused the Valves to tap on the...

    Why is nobody asking?

Well, I will stay that Roberts Express/ FedEx Custom Critical has gave the Fleet more money over the years. Back in 1995 when I started a full rate C load paid a $1.31 per mile to the truck and a full rate D load was $1.41 per mile and back then we got load offer's from the big 3 that wanted you...

    Beware of Cummins motors

Rich it's a 2000 Fl 80 that had 590,000 miles on an 8.3 Cummins that had just had the top end rebuilt. Dunbar87 I see you didn't understand what I was saying. TA Shops handle small repair's on trucks very good for the most part. Lights, oil change's, battery's, alternators, When it's 1 am and...
