I wanted to go there because I remembered the days when that Hook had a unique buffet. I suspected it wasn't there anymore, all food options on the road being homogenized, and unfortunately, I was right. The Giant in Arizona had unique food before Pilot ruined it, and Petro in North Little Rock...

    AC issues

That's what it turned out to be. The shop guy says there's a slow leak somewhere but he couldn't find it, so he recharged it.

The new sketchy truck stop is the Love's in Nashville. I thought I was going to get murdered.

I spent the rest of the night there. I told the office vans were really stacked up there and he promised to get me out of there, and he did shortly thereafter.

    AC issues

Ideas for what might be wrong? 2015 MB Sprinter. AC pretty cold at highway speed, but pretty tepid at slower speeds or when idling. Also freezes a couple times per hour when rolling, necessitating turning off the AC for a couple minutes. Than it thaws and air flows again.

    What a dump

Love's in Nashville. Never been here before. Can't believe Love's would sully their reputation like this.

    Plywood & buckets bed

I hadn't thought of an under sheet of plywood. I don't have dimensions yet but it would be the width of the sprinter at the side door less an inch or two. I'm thinking 6 buckets.

    Plywood & buckets bed

I plan on building a bed by laying plywood on hardware store buckets or milk crates. How thick should the plywood be for a fat guy? Do I need to go a full inch thick?

We're really stacked up here. About a dozen vans here. Slept afternoon and evening so I'm awake now. Boy, I'll tell you, there are some interesting individuals hanging out here. I've seen cars come in with busted out windows, they still to beg for cigarettes, and then roll out. I think when the...

    Bed width

I'm 6'1" but I've slept a bit cramped like that before. I can sleep diagonally if necessary. Anyone know the length of theirs?

    Bed width

Do you remember how long it was? Did it touch the side wall and door?

    Bed width

So when loaded, the recliner sat east-west? Hmmm, interesting. Did it lay pretty flat? I'm having a hard time imagining it fitting. Convenient, if it did. But unlike a bed that you can flip on it's side to allow for more freight, that would permanently occupy more space.

    Bed width

One, I can't get used to sleeping the wrong way. Two, I never lay out flat, always curled up some, so the 6" or so less won't bother me. 3, the farther back my bed extends, the more often I'm going to have to take it down and put it back up because of the freight. Last, if I have a bed-freight...

    Bed width

The existing bed in this 2015 Mercedes Sprinter is front to back, and I just can't stand it not being across. The mattress is too big to turn sideways, though. Anybody know the right length to order to use all the space across? I'm planning on using several Home Depot buckets as a base...

    CB location in a Sprinter

Knowing about backups and which lane to be in is about 96% of what I want it for. It's pretty cramped in here compared to a big truck. I don't know if I can find a decent place.

    CB location in a Sprinter

I'm starting in a 2015 Mercedes Sprinter. I'm planning on taking out the passenger seat at some point. Don't know how that's done yet, but that's down the road a bit, after I figure out how to power a fridge, microwave, and AC. But my immediate concern is where to mount a CB. There's so little...

    AC

Ok, so imagine I can get one installed, say a roof top. What kind of electrical set up will I need? I know it has something to do with deep cycle batteries, maybe 2 or 3. But I don't know the difference between serial or parallel. I know the terms, but that's it. Somehow, they're hooked to the...

    Generators Rain and generators

That's a no go. Fans do essentially nothing, especially when it's humid. Parked in the sun, I can imagine how hot it will be.

    Generators Rain and generators

What do you do with the generator sitting outside your van when it rains? And what do you do when you need AC and thereby the generator, but there's a chance of rain or pop up showers, but you need to go to sleep? You just forgo the generator and AC on those days? I drive someone else's van so I...

    AC

What happened to expediters using an AC unit running off a generator? As I recall, they were slim towers, and I think you have to elevate them for drainage and vent them out the window. I don't know what those models of AC are called so I'm having trouble finding them.
