that being said an owner may not care to see a truck trying to layover in boise, idaho every weekend. an owner is usually expecting productivity from the vehicles they own.

i dont see much negativity, finger pointing, and blame in what ovm is saying. its just advice. and in this case advice that i dont agree with. take the load. proceed until conditions say otherwise. park. continue when conditions clear. its always just that easy, hah. eb

when you are having one of those stinking, bad streaks that one three skidder can turn a losing week into a winner. ive had a couple months that were so bad that a single three skid load would have doubled my income for the month. if three skids is not possible in your vehicle, forget about it...

to the original question, i dont have a hard rule. even if it was zip to zip, and in the contract, and i had something close to 50 miles off of reality, i would call to verify that i was going to the right place. fifty miles can very easily equal an hour in time too. they might not mind short...

i would still find the numbers interesting, because on any given weekend there are huge swaths of real estate that become completely vacant of any activity. the kind of activity that during the week would be generating freight for some one. eb

Just from a raw numbers stand point I would be curious to see the percentage of freight customers that are open on the weekend. eb

going off my last full month of data, i had no pick ups on wednesdays, but i did have work on three of my weekends. i think john should move a saturday person to wednesday. eb

going forward the problem with the small operation is whether they can survive regulation. the bureaucracy is not getting smaller.
