Frequent Fueler card works for gas or diesel. I don't know minimum for the ON locations so I always get 80 liters to be sure and get my credits. Real clean showers in London, ON. The card also provides coupons for food at the rate of 1 cent per gal. They mail out every month and I usually get...

Cargo weight capacity Ford E350 7.3 diesel extende

RE: Cargo weight capacity Ford E350 7.3 diesel ext I suspect expeditesales is refering to firefighters post, not mine My Express 3500 has an after market fiberglass roof similar to that which many van owners are now installing. The GVWR is 9500 and with our personal gear, full tank and co...

    Something I have learned...

My not so humble opinion: After you've done your homework, ala a-team, et. al., and you've decided to jump in, your financial future will be in question until you've learned the who, what, why, when and where of it all. In a small way its kinda like the casino atmosphere. Some people are...

Cargo weight capacity Ford E350 7.3 diesel extende

RE: Cargo weight capacity Ford E350 7.3 diesel ext I had two E-350's. '92 and '96 and as I recall, the showroom weight was in the neighborhood of 5700 lbs. Add 150# fuel, 220# driver, plywood flooring, load securement eqpt, all your personal gear, and maybe a laptop to stay in touch with EO...

    Fuel Surcharge

I share davekc's concern for fuel surcharge on each and every load being prefered. Our success hinges on our compensation for every load being appropriate to support all our overhead, including personal pay and company profit. My point was merely to express my opinion that if the total run...

    Fuel Surcharge

Couldn't find reference to a response in recruiter section so here's my 2 cents worth. You didn't say whether you would be getting a percentage of the carriers tariff or a flat milage rate. A fuel surcharge paid at 100% to the fuel purchaser is an important elment to your bottom line; however...

Are your miles close to "their" miles?

You're correct in guessing my affiliation is w/ FedExCC. Yes we get 100% of the fuel surchrges when they are applied to the tariffs, Some companies don't pay it due to contractual agreement with the carrier.

    Memorial Day

Let's pause on this Memorial Day weekend to pause in rememberance of our fellow Americans who gave their lives in battle for our country. We cherish too, the poppy red that grows in fields where valor led; It seems to signal to the skies that blood of heros never dies, but lends a lustre to the...

    Insurance Question

Since you're here at the site a few day less than me, I'm entitled to say "welcome". I'm not very conversent on the insurance industry so my comment is limited that which I know. You'd perhaps be surprised to know that a great many folks who enter the expedite industry do so without any...

Are your miles close to "their" miles?

My understanding of my company's practice is the customer charge is based on Household Goods HHG mileage plus 5%. We are quoted an offer based on 58% of the customer's price for a run that is indicated to us as practical miles. This is closer to miles actually traveled. In reality we accept or...

    Satellite Radio

check it out and you'll find XM one of the best values for the buck. Dave Nemo et al on channel 171 is static free from coast to coast. unlike AM-FM you can stay tuned to the same station from p/u to delivery. Consider it another tool for the trucker that make the work all that more...

    Book Work

Since very few drivers in the expedite business are employees, you would most likely be driving for an owner/operator. As a non-employee, the o/o is typically paid a percentage of the tariff received by the trucking company, and out of that percentage, the o/o isresponsible for all overhead...

    New drivers just saying hello!!

Here's about two cents worth: Rene' and I also gave up a rather comfortable life and lifestyle to enter the wonderful world of expediting, truck stops, the open road and the scenic byways. We learned early-on that it was real easy to allow our personal lives to interfere with our new...
