    May plain and simple..

Running through Oklahoma to the Texas panhandle, and did I ever mention I hate rain?

Has anyoe heard of On Call Logistics?

And my statement was obviously referring to the defense of On Call that followed directly after the denial of a defense of On Call. You said "I never" and then you did - hilarious. :hilarious:

More Insight Into Baltimore's Crime Problems

Nobody makes regulations "for the sake of regulating" - regulations are necessary to prevent those who would harm others [a few or many] in their own self interests. Should we allow a business to dump toxic poison into the water supply? Regulation has become a curse word to some, but when...

More Insight Into Baltimore's Crime Problems

Compared to most of you, I'm liberal, and so is virtually everyone I know well. And guess what? We all work for a living, and expect that everyone else should, too. We do not "want to pay for folks to sit home" - that's just nucking futs. OTOH, we don't like the way the value of labor is...

More Insight Into Baltimore's Crime Problems

Could be - there's definitely a problem with illegal immigrants. As I've said before: if we can't control the borders, why have them? We may be a destination, but uninvited 'guests' need to be discouraged. I don't know what the answer is for those already here, [shipping them back is an exercise...

More Insight Into Baltimore's Crime Problems

What's the point of making a living, if the life you enable isn't bearable? Seriously, how many people care solely about working conditions, without giving a damn about living conditions? And how representative are they of normal people, who, like, want to enjoy the life they're working to...

Has anyoe heard of On Call Logistics?

"I never defended him at all" but - saying "He was humble enough to step up and say that he made mistake so there is no reason to keep going after him" IS defending him, absolutely. Whether he deserves defending, I don't know, but I doubt it. Like Turtle says, his comments just smack of hiding...

More Insight Into Baltimore's Crime Problems

The "best place to live" is like the "best" carrier: it depends upon what criteria you use, ie: what matters most. What you call a "liberal jab" was a perfectly natural and reasonable response to what the site Money-Rates.com puts front & center. Some people care about things like education...

More Insight Into Baltimore's Crime Problems

Liberal dems aint welcome, but they seem to be just fine with: Teaching abstinence only [or abstinence stressed] sex education. Which has proven to lead to: Very high rates of teen pregnancies. Which generally leads to: The highest rate [along with California] of children in poverty. More than...

More Insight Into Baltimore's Crime Problems

The cited cities have real problems, that go far beyond Democrat/Republican platforms, but I agree that when Dems are in charge, somebody needs to be watching for corruption. For quality of life, "best place to make a living" is not one size fits all, as Money-Rates apparently thinks. An...

    Voter fraud

Who ever said there's "no voter fraud"? What people say is that the issue of voter fraud is miniscule, compared to election fraud, and why is the former such a big deal, [requiring new laws] while the latter is ignored entirely?

More Insight Into Baltimore's Crime Problems

There are many who don't find that wonderful Republican leadership making paradise of Kansas, Louisiana, Wisconsin, and even Texas. Both parties are capable of astonishing stupidity. As long as you see everything through partisan blinders, you see only a narrow view, but believe it's the whole...

    Sad news

She was nice to you because you deserve it, and that's who she was. In spite of her husband Steve saying she "walked like she's about to kick some aZZ", she was nice to all of us, always. Whether we deserved it or not.

I stayed up all night preparing an escape vehicle.

While there's a limit to what any one person can do, we are never better human beings than when helping someone who needs [and appreciates] it. Good job. :woot:

    EZ PASS??

Absolutely! It saves money [tolls are lower for Pass holders], time [lanes are faster, can download the whole week or month from online for reimbursement & records], and aggravation [try leaving a booth while trying to not lose the change & receipt, roll up the window, shift gears, figure out...

    Sad news

I just leaned of the death yesterday of our own Judy Avery/Pelicn, and I'm not ready to accept it. Judy was someone I admired a lot, and while I knew she was fighting cancer, she seemed to be beating the monster. EO and the world are sadder, without her.

Been stuck in an office for 26 years......

So, they called about another load: 2000 miles, hazmat, pays $3000. I may regret accepting it, but I'd also regret declining, if nothing much else bubbled up. Found a nice long audiobook, and I'm on my way - cheers! :joyful:

    Riding a bike

Have you checked any out lately? My brother in law thinks I should get one, so he was kind enough to point some out on the web, and there are some decent looking models these days.

Questions from a Newbie Cargo Van O/O

One comment that indicates you don't yet have a firm grasp on expediting: "Getting stuck without a load back." There [pretty much] is no such creature in expediting. We go where the freight needs delivered, and then we either wait nearby for the next load, or drive to wherever we believe is a...

    No boys, no girls

Science is highly political - in the Eisenhower era, it was all about benefiting mankind [and beating the Russians, lol. Benefiting mankind doesn't play so well today, the potential for scoring major bucks is what attracts funding. Still, the research into gay/trans issues is getting done, and...
