    Rain X

Wholeheartedly agree on the Rain-X. It also allows for easier bug removal. I've used the Fog-X once and threw the rest away. I may have applied it wrong but it smeared my inside window more than I cared. Also, difficult to apply on the long, slopped windshield. Terry

    dot inspection

KPK. FedEx Custom Critical applies the same inspection requirements to vans as they do for the big trucks. Federal regulations do not require these inspections, but companies like FedEx comply with the spirit of the regulations in order to ensure the operation of safe equipment by all of...

    getting serious doubts

MIRANGERMAN: Congratulations on a wise, well thought out decision. Others can learn from your posts in this thread that Expediting in a third party van (B) is not the way to feather the nest of most people, including you. I'm sure the other members join me in wishing you and your family...

    Can GVWR be lowered?

Registering lower than the GVWR doesn't change the truck's weight rating nor the federal requirement to log with a 10,001 weight rated vehicle. Probably save some money on the plates; what else would be gained?

    Hours

Perhaps the doubles milage limits are based on the fact they are near always on the big road, they have developed a milage average history that is very predictable and run dedicated routes. Expediters, on the other hand, seldom know the routes they will travel, don't always stay on the big...

    Can GVWR be lowered?

Here's my understanding: GVWR is a measure of the vehicles safe maximum weight as determined by the vehicle manufacturer. The weight rating may be lowered or raised, and certified as such, by the maufacturer or a certified vehicle modifier such as a van conversion company. You may not...

    Qualcom wire fire !!

we sure hope your damage to the van was minimal. I've never heard of such a thing. I'd take a bunch of pix and hope that the cause of the fire can be traced to faulty installation whereby the installer might give you some relief. Did a loose hot wire abrade on a grounded area? This is a...

    Purchasing Qualcomm Equipment

If you think you'll be using the qualcomm for more than three years and your carrier allows it and doesn't charge a usage fee, it'll just about be worth it. I've paid over $18,000 in lease fees for mine.

    Wanting to go West

solo in a van with FedEx Custom Critical is typically 700 miles. Weekends and holidays can get you from Indiana to Calif, with plenty of rest periods. Not very often but it happens. Once there, you'll not likely get anything back east but some opportunities exist running the left coast...
