I believe they would. All Kevorkian did was hold back the cause in Michigan and other states. People that would have been sympathtic in this issue, may now feel otherwise due to his schnanigans.

It would have been beter if he had become part of the legislative process as the hemlock society has done in oregon. Because they used the system to their advantage, oregon has right to die laws.

This is not about making mistakes. Kevorkian did not make a mistake. He was fully aware of what he was doing. He did not invent the suicide machine by mistake. He did not asphyxiate someone in the back of his VW van by mistake.

It's not the idea of "Right to Die" that we are opposed to, it was Kevorkians method. He set the cause back with his methods and his pokes at the laws.

A great man? I'm not so sure about that. The right to die is a noble idea, but the way Dr Death "helped" was deplorable. I have more respect for those that get involved in the system, than renagades. Just my opinion.
