Would you take this load ?

In my opinion. you should NEVER take a load that exceeds the maximum weight required by the lease agreement an owner signs with a carrier. Also you should never carry more weight than the GVWR allows for the safe operation of the van. The GVWR minus the curb weight is not your expedite cargo...

    hi

BAMBAM: Since you joined the forum 13 days ago, you've mentioned your "other half", your "husband", and your "boy friend". For safety purposes, you should only bring along one at a time, particularly if you are logging your HOS. What company will you lease with? In addition to the forum...

WHAT ARE OUR HOURLY WAGE(s) ??

I don't agree with the sanity of accounting this way but a response to the question asked is as follows. An expediter that maintains a 70% availability will be on call, on duty, or on duty not driving for 255 days annually. If the expediter nets $50,000, before taxes, he will have earned...

    Baskin Robbins?

Not a week goes by that someone asks, "what's the best carrier with which to lease?" A while back, Broompilot mentioned that there are 31 expedite carriers that advertise with ExpeditersOnline. A long while back, a respected leader in our business community said "Asking any individual what's...

    New driver with some questions.......

"But from experience what is the best 'overall' company between Panther II and Tri-State." Panther, FedEx Custom Critical, Tri-State. The best company between Panther and Tri-State is FedEx Custom Critical. That's just my opinion and Drivers in the other companies will give you different...

HOW DID YOU DISCOVER EXPEDITING ???

I was sitting on the throne at a local Union 76 truck stop and while reading the literature scribbled on the wall, I came across a bold printed "for a good time call LM at EO 859-746-2046". Who can resist a good time...and the rest is history. Well, it could have started that way, but in...

    Would this work?

I would add that I think it would be to your benfit to get a tentative agreement from a carrier ,or two, to accept you as a lessee. It would be a shame to get a truck first and then find out you can't get a lease agreement with a carrier that can't help you reach your financial requirements

    Truck Show in March

    >I have a few questions about the truck show in March: >1) Do we need to make reservations for the show? Reservations are not required but you can avoid some considerable entry delay by registering at www.truckingshow.com >2) Do we need reservations at a motel or can we stay in the...

    Fuel tax for vans

Bob: Enjoy your good fortune while it lasts. State laws generally are written to require a vendor to collect taxes. The law would not likely be written requiring you to pay the tax; therefore, you would then have no legal obligation to pay the tax, moral perhaps, but not legal. Vans don't...

WHAT IS THE MOST COMMON SKID SIZE?

In my opinion, skid size should be the least of your concerns. The weight of those three skids is more important to the healthy life of your Sprinter. The advertised cargo capacity of a 4 wheel, model 2500, 158" wheel base with high roof is 3308#. That includes a driver and a full fuel tank...

    i am in the dark

I agree with all of the above and if you stay tuned, you'll get more opinions. There are too many variables in expediting to pin down a finite amount of money you or anyone else can earn in a cargo van. A typical FedEx Custom Critical cargo van with a solo driver should be able to gross about...
