    Which would be better?

Not knowing the answer, my first question would be "with what country's currency are you computing my compensation?" On the second note, I'm with OVM. The Sprinter will be a better entry level machine with which to learn the biz, especially crossing the border in a commercial vehicle.

    Insurance Scam

A similar scam is called a "drive down". As you come down a merge lane, or otherwise signal a lane change, a scammer will slow and wave you over and then speed up and allow you to hit him/her. The scammer will deny ever waving you over and insist you failed to yield as required.

    improving fuel milage

RE: improving fuel mileage I use COSTCO for all my tire purchases. There one-price-out-the-door policy makes price comparisons easier. When on layover, I seek out a COSTCO for a free rotate and balance every few thousand miles. Most if not all now use nitrogen only at no extra cost. I have...

    What should I do now?

Pappy: You can have it both ways; take your music on the road and tell the bus driver he's no longer needed 'cause you're the new driver. Good Luck!

UPS Expedite name change...UPS Express Critical

RE: UPS Expedite name change...UPS Express Critica It seems obvious to me that UPS is aiming to take advantage of the Custom Critical reputation and glean a few customers from the sole major competition by brand name confusion. These folks aren't just thinking about expediting they have the...

    whats the answer

Any savings the carrier can realize by reducing the size of its workforce or the compensation to its workforce will undoubtedly be retained by the carrier. Not until such time as there is a critical shortage of owner/operators willing to lease on at the current rates will they consider an...

looking for a TV for my CV

There are many ways to do it but here's how I have done mine. I have two deep cycle (d-c) batteries installed in the rear of the van against the outside wall. I ran a pair of very flexible welders' cable avail from a welding supply shop such as Cee-Kay, (CK) from the van battery to the rear. I...

looking for a TV for my CV

You should be able to buy a small 12v at any number of truckstops, WalMart, etc You can get some reasonably priced 110v LCD TV's in just about any size. TV/DVD combos are a popular way to go. Whichever way you go, an auxiliary battery will save your van battery for starting the van which will...

    whos busy

It can be done, even in a van. I averaged about 650 miles last Thursday, 350 miles on Friday, 0 on Saturday, 0 on Sunday, 72 miles on Monday, 32 miles on Tuesday and 450 miles on Wednesday. Therein is the life of an expediter during a typical 7 day period. During that period I grossed a bit...

    $$$$$$

A slip of the lip; I didn't mean to write in oil changes. Also note that I said unusual not un-used. I don't agree with the 750 mile example. If the owner is paying the fuel, that should include all necessary and reasonable deadhead. Where I think a driver should pay for fuel, during an...

    $$$$$$

Generally speaking, If I was an owner, I'd want the driver to pay all the fuel and oil. If I was the driver, I'd want the owner to pay. Expectations of the driver and of the owner are an important consideration. If the driver plans to go home every weekend or some other lesser unreasonable...
