    Freightliner Innovation Truck

Just found this article on the Freightliner innovation truck. We saw the truck at MATS and were awed by all of the cool gadgets on this truck. We were impressed by the fact the truck had no mirrors and relied on cameras. We talked to Henry Albert who was able to test the truck and were given...

"Favor" Loads . . . You know, Idiot Loads!

We do not do favors for anyone that cannot return the favor. When you finish that favor load and call in to the same dispatcher who asked you to take the favor load you will be hung out to dry. FCC is trying very hard to put a stop to this very situation. We are not out here to do favors we...

    Time for a fan!

Great reminder India. We spent a lot of time at the Wal-Mart store moving each fan away from the other fans to see how they each felt. We did not end up buying the fan that was our first pick. The difference a fan can make in the truck is unbelievable. Even with our Fantastic Vent we still...

    Speaking of White Glove.....

No one advanced over Bob and I as we have a dog and had a dog when we signed on with FedEx Custom Critical and we still thought they were and still think they are the best company for us. I also agree it is hurting the company image but it is a company policy and as of now it stays the way...

    Speaking of White Glove.....

I agree with you and we have had many discussions with the company on the WG policy but the policy still stands. To us there are so many other benefits being leased to FCC that this is a minor irritant or as Leo has said often this is one of FCC warts.

Preferential Treatment for Expediter Services . . .

A driver who takes advantage of the system is not in the wrong it is the system that is wrong. Outside looking in I think the fleet trucks are probably more dependable then the O/O with one truck. What I mean by that is not often do the fleets pull their trucks and move to another company...

    Speaking of White Glove.....

The truck is in White Glove not the drivers in a sense. So if the drivers go out and buy their own truck that is not all ready in WG they have to get in line. There are so many trucks in WG and the WG division is full. There are some instances where this is not true but for the general rule...

Preferential Treatment for Expediter Services . . .

It is not just ES that gets this treatment it is any approved WG truck. The truck is what seems to count not the drivers. There are many WG fleet trucks that lose a driver pick up a brand new team that have no experience or like some have came from another company with experience and they go...

    More BS about Fatigued Drivers

How often has this law been used and is this law being abused by officers? There are many laws on the books that are just dust catchers. I am not saying I agree with the law I am just wondering if this another law that OOIDA has blown out of proportion?

    extra long deadhead

MYGIA Have you talked to your CC or to the CR department? They might be able to recommend a mentor for you that would be willing to talk about how they are handling the freight crunch right now. There are a lot of ways to cut costs on the road and at home. I am sure you have all ready done...

Preferential Treatment for Expediter Services . . .

Some of the drivers we have heard about from Expediter Services enjoy keeping this rumor going. They like to think they are getting preferential treatment or they seem to want others to think that so they will sign on with Expediter Services. Do they offer a recruitment bonus? You are right...

    Speed limiter letter

We all have a business to run and if the money is right into Canada we will go. Times are tight and I am not going to go under to make a point. The WG loads we have hauled into Canada lately have all paid way above our minimum and the loads within the states are barely meeting our minimums...

How do you get rid of pet oder??

Check your in cab air filters as pet hair really clogs them. We keep a home spray system from Wal-Mart in the front of the truck and then have an air freshener in the sleeper. We also keep a throw over the bed for Molly to lie on that is easily washed. When we get in or while Molly is out I...

    E-Book reader, anyone?

I have the Sony E Reader and really like it but I still cannot resist the bargain book tables. The only thing that disappointed me was the cost of the books on the e - reader. There are many things I like about the e-reader is how clear the words are, the ease of downloads, and how easy it is...
