They seem to be giving out CDLs to anybody...

I found a typo in the above linked article, at least I hope it was a typo. She currently works for Louisville Logistics out of Louisville, Kentucky. I believe it should read: She formerly worked for Louisville Logistics out of Louisville, Kentucky.

Going from B unit into straight?

I think the most important thing to consider when going from a van to a straight for a solo driver is to find a carrier that caters to solo drivers.

Going from B unit into straight?

So has Cheri. Both went from tractor/trailer to cargo van to straight truck. They both worked hard to reach the pinnacle of the expedite hierarchy, cargo van ownership! Both, after achieving that lofty goal, took a huge step backward by going into straight trucks. Why? I don't know. I...

Has anyone converted a school bus into an expeditor?

I think the days of cobbling something together and hauling expedited freight are long gone. In the past I have seen pickup trucks with home made boxes or extended wooden sides with a toppers. Window vans and vans pulling trailers. Expediting isn't the "fly by the seat of your pants"...

    Blue Ice

I took the picture of the frozen wash bucket at the Flying J located south of the Beloit and north of Rockfish. It's not like that area doesn't get temperatures below freezing during the winter months. I not so sure it's matter of being cheap but rather one of corporate ignorance. During the...

Has anyone converted a school bus into an expeditor?

Being "there's not much difference", why go through all the trouble of converting a school bus into a straight truck? Yeah there's some stigma attached to expediting with school buses. Ken Kesey gave school buses, LSD and expediting a bad name back in the 1960s. The stigma persists today...

    Dimensions

LxWxH is the most common way to list dimensions. If you are referring to dimensions of freight listed on a load board I guess it would all depend on the moron who posted the load.

Same for my past year but I will describe it in two words: Abbey Normal. We sold our house and bought a new one. I sold my van, bought a new one and took almost five month off.

    Camping supplies in your truck?

Yes, that's why I still have all that stuff. Besides I only shower once a week and sell all my extra shower credits for $2 a pop. I can buy a lot of deodorant and hot dogs with the shower money;)
