Another scenario: JB Hunt's customer uses drop trailers. Suddenly the load got upgraded to an expedite, but the two bobtails weren't scheduled to arrive until the next morning. JB Hunt does advertise expedited services to their customer, just not "in-house."

Right now brokers are between a rock and a hard place. Shippers don't want to pay very much and want to haggle with the broker on everything. "But it's only one skid...." The brokers sometimes can find a carrier to move it, but when the load numbers get too high for the truck, they panic...

It always seems easier to run. So sad.
