    Rates and Rants

This would qualify as a rant more than rate... Interesting developments across the border here...i know at least 2 companies being forced to put fleet insurance on their O/O or they can't bid...interesting way to solve the insurance question! Anybody seen that yet in USA? Personally I want to...

    Rates and Rants

I'm just floored by the idea that you can refuse a price and they call back later and give you what you wanted. Why didn't they offer that first?!? Games waste time. And I know the answer is some drivers will say yes = more money for the carrier

    Rates and Rants

Expedite is awesome, that's why we do it. The desire to get out is understandable, but there's nothing checking the carriers from making an extra buck on you (save the magic word no) or bidding on stuff they know they can't do and taking a cut as it passes thru their fingers I solved the...

Looking for Carrier that will take on a 06 Sprinter

Ah thank you. Explains my 30 day pay sheet of another driver working for the carrier I'm going to.

2500 miles in a Ford Transit, a sprinter fans take.

I still want a diesel 3500 Promaster but paid careful attention to your experience. I've got the manuals for your transmission...and the engine...both are proven in Europe but since we can't rely on their service network I'm holding off until I understand them, mechanically The Fords are good...

Looking for Carrier that will take on a 06 Sprinter

I dunno, I'm Canadian and they don't need me. I started a Rates and Rants in the soapbox, so I don't hijack any more threads. Post why there...you don't have to name names...

    Rates and Rants

Ok. Think we need a thread to vent. (Well I do) Last year was awesome, this year a race to the bottom. What gives? Apparently consumer confidence is at its highest since xxx Lots of people say don't expect more than 70c. I've got all the work I could possibly do at 1.20 +. Doesn't matter where...

Looking for Carrier that will take on a 06 Sprinter

I know but that felt good! Expedite rates are falling too far for a 2005. Not for the truck...for the 4 kids still living in my home The shippers are NOT paying 70c. I love expediting, but number 1 would be...ME Get it in writing and LEAVE (for more money)

Looking for Carrier that will take on a 06 Sprinter

Hey I don't get the negativity. I've voluntarily stayed home for a month now due to being asked for a safety on my van (Left the carrier. My van was safetied within the year, I'm not paying $200 on the owner's whim and giving a crooked shop the opportunity, the MTO (like DOT) isn't asking for...

    I'm going to do it!

So for right this second I'm going to mechanically fasten sandwich layers of 1.5" polyiso board into the walls. It's not sensitive to moisture so much Condensation problems won't happen if I can manage to seal the walls properly. That stuff Moot mentioned is pretty nice though, check it out if...

    March 2017 this and that.

Watched Vanishing Point a couple days ago. Meh Some classics don't seem to age well Zombie flicks excepted, wonder what it would have been like to see Night of the Living Dead when it came out Saw Easy Rider when I was 15 hopped up on hospital painkillers, I was shocked and in a rage at the...

    I'm going to do it!

Thanks for other ideas...i still don't know what to do...the pour foam expands 30 times and I could fill the spaces behind paneling (and the Sprinter could float!) The weight of an R10 board at 10 lbs is equivalent to 55lbs of rock wool

    I'm going to do it!

Just learned the roxul is not formaldehyde free, so it's out. Not a fan if being closed up in a box with that...Changed my mind to roll on steel building insulation that is, and has a built in vapour barrier...I can carve out the support beams and leave just a bit to help thermal bridging...

    I'm going to do it!

Insulate, that is. Here's the quick version: Decided to use Roxul stone wool in the walls, its good stuff...fill all the cavities and vapour barrier it one piece floor n ceiling too...1/2 slab of poly board under a harder thinner plywood sheet...finish the walls and ceiling with 1" polyiso R6...

    March 2017 this and that.

Even as a teenager I'd stay up days at a time for no reason. Just harnessed it with this job. Gotta stay honest with myself if that changes though
