    Signs of times to come?

If you ever had a forklift get stuck in your truck you would know why landing gear became popular.

    Signs of times to come?

This has been happening since shortly after the pilgrims arrived. Immigrants come to this country to work and make a better life for themselves. They took unskilled, manual labor jobs like agriculture, mining, forestry etc. Today most of those jobs have been replaced by machinery and don't...

Thoughts on 6 skid cube van vs 3 skid sprinter (both under 10k)?

I have financed two vans for expediting (Chevy 3500) through two different credit unions. I first open a savings account and make regular deposits for awhile. Then I apply for a loan. I'm sure I was asked how the vans would be used.

Thoughts on 6 skid cube van vs 3 skid sprinter (both under 10k)?

If you're thin on credit join a credit union and start a savings account. Make regular deposits and then seek a loan. Another option is financing through an arm of the vehicle manufacturer. At one time even my dog was eligible for new car, manufacturer financing. I don't know if that is...

Thoughts on 6 skid cube van vs 3 skid sprinter (both under 10k)?

The truck the OP referenced 2017 Ram Promaster 3500, Wallingford CT - 122053822 - CommercialTruckTrader.com looks fairly close to dock high. My Transit has a floor height of 29" and the pictured Promaster looks to be about 8 to 10 inches higher. This could work with many dock plates using...

    Retirement can't come soon enough....

You need to buy a van and do some semi-serious expediting. I've been semi retired for 20 years, well retired from semis, and this is the best job I've ever had. Pay isn't what it used to be, but the freedom is priceless!

    sold my sprinter van

Why? One owner expediting miles (highway miles) are much easier on a van than multiple driver, city delivery, fleet miles. I once sold a van with 820,000 miles, one owner, expediter van to another expediter. He knew what he was buying because he was an expediter. Also, he knew and trusted...

The latest new Load One custom

That's my point. Why pay straight truck rates only to put your freight on a cube van?

From a shipper/consignee's point of view it isn't dock high. More work a both ends.

    The Trump Card...

You sound very confident about that and I believe you. Did you copyright that term? I don't know Ventura or Trump at all but I agree with you when it comes to narcissism, THE DONALD probably has THE BRAIN beat. When it comes to paranoia I think Jesse has got that locked. But not by much.
