I got the new T-Mobile promotion today (isn't competition great?) 2 lines for $100 including taxes and fees. 28gb before depriortization, 10 Gb hotspot.
AT&T has even joined the club by dropping the direct TV requirement for their unlimited plan. But they're pretty pricey.

Leaving the US this morning in Port Huron it looked like a war zone. Random cars and trucks being pulled over for searches with agents posing with their weapons. Again, this was leaving not entering the country.
The reason is so people aren't using their hot spots instead of cable/satellite. Btw 3g is faster in most countries than LTE is in US/Canada. It's over saturated here.
There's a lot of pressure on these carriers to match or better the other's (hence Verizon finally coming on board). The plan might end at some point for new subscribers but now that there's really no contracts consumers will go to what works for them.
