Not really. We have thought about doing that but only as an emergency feature. Say the omnitracs system was down. Then we could message the fleet and maybe have them like push a button to engage tracking. But not in the works at this time.

Amazing how quickly we become dependent on technology. Scanning in the trucks didnt exist till we were one of the first carriers 7 years ago. Now look how quickly the app changed all that and how dependent in a matter of months we are on it. #appenvy

Yeah the big black lines mess up the scanning function. Worst case you can upload a pic through the app.

Not really sure where anyone sees me as an elitist in this. I don’t think age of a vehicle is incredibly relevant. I have seen 3 year old trucks that are garbage and ten year old trucks that are great. That really comes down to maintenance and upkeep. Keeping a truck in proper operating...

I think you are correct the other issue is "bid boards". A big part of their "sale or value" to a customer is getting the best market price. So this induces them to allow carriers onto their boards that should never be there. The standards of days gone by to be an NLM carrier are gone.

Well this was a case where they were a direct shipper of ours...but....some customers of theirs pay for and arrange their own transportation. This truck was that case. Major auto mfg who used a bid board to get this "carrier". As far as politicians and the FMCSA I will continue to push on...
