    Questions about pallet pullers

There was some pallets nearby, and I tried the hook out on it, worked perfect. What kept me from buying it on the spot wasn’t the price, it was the weight. It was lighter than the lightest scissor pallet puller, and as posted before, with a grade 8 chain you can get a lot of power with smaller...

    Questions about pallet pullers

Reading how you guys are using straps, it got me thinking. I haven’t had 1 issue sliding out any loads with my straps, the issue was doing it on the blind side of the load. I saw the scissors type pallet puller, and I saw a large metal hook that you just reach in and hooked in. The hook...

In Persuit Of The PERFECT Van Bed Set Up

Lol, well I’ve upgraded to adding a 750w power inverter. I also have a electric sleeping pad that I put on my full sized bed. It shows 130w, but I believe that’s at full blast. I keep it on it’s lowest settings. So instead of getting the cold from the floor I get warmth from the mat...

    Cargo Van Promaster Oil Change

Second oil change at 8,000 miles. Agreeing with the posts, periodic checks of oil level is required, especially checking it cold in the morning, before it’s been started. I’m glad I used the K&N filter, because the oil was black. I’d be fearful to let it go 10k miles no matter what the bottle...

    Questions about pallet pullers

I never saw any at Harbor Freight, going to a Northern tomorrow.

    Cargo Van Promaster Oil Change

I filled level to top of the fill line on the dipstick, started the engine, let it run a minute, then checked level again where I needed to add a little more, absorbed into the filter. Once it was at the top of the fill line, I was done. Estimating from the bottle it was about 1/3 of the bottle...

    Questions about pallet pullers

I’ve been reading in the van links about pallet pullers. I’ve always wrapped the strap around the backside of the pallet, but I’ve always been fearful that the strap will slide up off the wooden pallet and onto the product. I saw 2 types of pullers, one that resembled scissors, and another that...

Just started, questions about van life (Ram Promaster 2500)

Others are far more knowledgeable about insulation than me. That said, I believe Reflectix requires “air”to reach it’s potential R value. I could be wrong, but putting it on the floor, then smashing it down with plywood isn’t going to accomplish much. I would at least want some boards to lay...

    Sprinter Van Life

One time I heard a guy asking a guy on a motorcycle what do you do when it gets hot, it gets cold, or when it rains? He responded, “When it gets hot outside, I get hot. When it gets cold outside, I get cold. When it rains outside, I get wet.” Well, in a van, you don’t get wet. That said, the...

October 2018 What nots and other stuff

I was in Tennessee this morning. I went to the Post Office to get some envelopes, mail off BOLs. As I waited in line, couldn’t help but notice guy standing in front of me was holding a small rooster. I watched him put that chicken in a box and mail it. I was amazed. Guess what everyone is...

Just started, questions about van life (Ram Promaster 2500)

Lol, a friend started before me, neither the driver, my friend, nor the owner, knew anything about DEF. So, you could imagine a diesel sprinter van running for 2 months straight in the winter without once putting DEF in, and idling most nights. Yea, you can imagine how victorious that was. I’m...

    Whats the skinny on Fusion?

People always say, you should drive for someone else before getting into expedite for yourself. I drove for a fleet owner, who signed on with Fusion. I had zero issues with Fusion, and got in lots of loads. They were very kind and patient with me as a new driver, and helpful with the questions...

Just started, questions about van life (Ram Promaster 2500)

I own my van. But I did drive for someone else before I went O/O. I had my back against a wall, really needed the job. I could sleep without the vehicle idling until the teens and single didgets, in which I idled the van all night. Minus degrees outside, I called the owner, and got a room...

Just started, questions about van life (Ram Promaster 2500)

Ok, I’m definitely going to sound like the odd duck here. All I have is plywood on my floor and I’m laying the mattress on the floor. Zero insulation in my van. You have multiple options. First, go to a military surplus, get a hardcore sleeping bag that covers your entire body, including your...

    Sea Foam, yes or no?

I appreciate that. I’m from the same school of thought, less is more. The Owners Manual doesn’t say use an additive, only 87 octane fuel. Just stay punctual with the required maintenance and the rest falls into place. Still, I was curious, because if this was an issue with Promaster engines...

    Cargo Van Promaster Oil Change

An oil change is a pretty easy thing. Still, that “first time” it would be great to eliminate the guesswork. Tools: 13mm 24mm Flat Head Screwdriver Oil Pan and Funnel Oil Filter: Passenger side on top of engine. Has a head for a 24mm socket or wrench. Not much room in the area of the engine...

Why expedite if you have a CDL?

What? I’m getting fined $1,000 and shut down for 10 hours because I pulled over and used the bathroom, and didn’t log it?

EXT SYSTEM warning light, please help!!

I’m not a mechanic, so please take my advice with a grain of salt. Are you able to leave your truck off and disconnect the battery cables for a period of time? Thinking 24 hours? Maybe that may help it reset back to normal.
