Birthday! July 11 - Somebody has a birthday

Sure wish some genius would develop a better road surface, now - I75 in Detroit is so bad, I can't believe people do the speed limit there! Oh - maybe that's why they leave it so rough, lol - sure slows drivers down! Are there other roads like that, which I haven't discovered yet?

This seems like the perfect place for this

Hahaha! Here's my favorite bunny joke: A man who has a Rottweiler can't seem to convince the kids next door that his dog is more marshmallow than monster, & it bothers him that they are so afraid. One day, he calls his dog in, & is horrified to see the dog trot up with the kids' pet bunny in...

    Test for the Bunny lovers

Are you referring to the tv antenna that used to sit on top of the tv that you had to walk across the room to change the channel on?

This is too funny to pass up

Greg: Thanks! The money isn't the best, well, actually, the money is nonexistent, but the company is absolutely the coolest, lol.;)

    Rising Fuel Prices

Moot: is "Real World" one of those reality shows? And isn't it surreal, watching people watching reality shows on television? If they like reality, why are they watching television, anyway? :+

    Rising Fuel Prices

Note: if one of the Mods chooses to move this thread to the Soapbox, I'd understand - it's where I thought it was in the first place, lol. :+

    Rising Fuel Prices

THawk: I said rioting in the streets is not a good thing - it makes people look like cretins who don't know any better than to destroy things. And it encourages looters, who really ARE cretins. Complacency is a bad thing - it's why the government gets away with as much as it does. Which is...

    You got to wonder

I know what I did when I arrived in Houston, & wanted a job: I went through the phone book, calling publishers, asking if they needed proofreaders. I had exactly zero experience, but I love to read, and finding [other people's] mistakes is easy, so why not? Most said a degree in journalism was...

This is too funny to pass up

Not sure what the movie stars in trees are protesting, exactly, but I'm pretty sure that buying the one farm wouldn't solve the problem - rich as they are, they can't buy them all! Cindy Sheehan is, in my opinion, a flake of the first order - I mean, what was she hoping to accomplish by a...

    Rising Fuel Prices

Expedited freight will be history when the shippers & consignees decide they really don't need the freight immediately - I for one, don't see much chance of that happening. Less freight, sure, but even consolidating loads is tough to arrange, given the unplanned nature of the need. We will...

    company markings?

I believe ConWay used to pay a nominal amount for signage, but no longer does. They are, however, in the process of rebranding, & updating the logo. The new one looks much better, IMO.

    Expediters On Television? You Bet!

There is a Pilot across the street, but it's a very small one - for non-trucks, anyway. I didn't think to see what the truck parking is like. BTW - for those planning to go to King's Island: I happened to pass the exit for it on a sat morning a few weeks ago, at around 9:30, & traffic was backed...

    Training

Linda: since I can't have a dog copilot, I tend to forget that some can. Arkjarhead: The advice I'd give you is to remember that you were brand new at this once, too, especially those times when you need to take a deep breath. The advice to your wife would be to come to the Expo - especially...

    Training

A simple system for knowing whether your codriver is in the bunk, or in the WalMart, is to leave the shoes of the codriver on the floor in front of the passenger seat - if the shoes aren't in the truck, neither is the person! I once left a codriver in the WalMart - not on purpose, but I still...
