    something you should never do....

I don't think I am wrong. I am not saying that it is right to buy your way into a job. I am saying it happens, every day, in every profession. It really doesn't sound like it is your buddy's fault to me. If you were busy when they had 3 vans and now they have 10, it shouldn't be surprising...

    something you should never do....

I would be out the door too if I wasn't working, but I wouldn't be mad at your buddy. That's how the world works these days. The ones that grease the wheels get the reward. All he did is find a way to make himself more profitable. Nothing wrong with that in a capitalistic society.

Expediting with a 1 ton pickup...

Yep, that's it. I knew what it was called, but didn't know if there was such freight in the expediting industry. I suppose that is the question I should have asked. Is there hotshot freight in expediting? If so, is it worth the trip for him to go to the expo?

    Canada Problems entering Canada?

The trucks are leased to Packard Transport and they have everything he needs to be legal to enter Canada. The freight belongs to my father, but he has it worked out with Packard so that it actually makes more money to run through them than to have his own authority. The trucks will be coming...

Expediting with a 1 ton pickup...

He's planning on buying a gooseneck trailer, not actually hauling stuff in the bed. So you figure he may as well not make the trip to the expo?

Expediting with a 1 ton pickup...

A friend of mine just purchased a new dodge 1 ton diesel truck. He works construction, but says he is planning on working the truck instead. I told him to check this site out, but I'm not sure if he has been here. Is there any expediting work for pickup trucks? Would a trip to the expediting...

    Canada Problems entering Canada?

Hey everyone. I posted here a few months ago about maybe entering expediting. I decided against it and took a job with my dad hauling car parts and steel. Monotonous, but steady, good paying work. Anyway, he has been offered a contract to haul six loads per day from southern Ohio to Windsor...

    Be Our Guest!

There is a Bass Pro Shop just across the river in Indiana. That's my plan for Friday night. Saturday, if you drive up to Kentucky Speedway and spend 40 bucks on tickets or souvenirs you get 3 laps around the track. I doubt they are gonna let a truck out there, but if you are in a car that may...

    First post, lots of questions

Hey guys, I bought my truck today. Bought a Freightliner FLD with a condo sleeper, M11 cummins, & a 10 speed tranny. Just need to get her tagged and I am off to work. I really do appreciate what you all had to say. Just because I'm not gonna drive expedite doesn't mean I'm not gonna drop by...

Ok, so just so I am perfectly clear and can begin looking for a tractor... $60,000 in 90 weeks = $667 per week clear if I busted my hump and stayed away from home. Am I understanding right?

    First post, lots of questions

You aren't the only one confused. Where did the idea of making a million come from anyway? It sure wasn't from me. Also, not interested in buying a new truck. Something that makes the cut for the companies is perfect with me. I am only looking to make money, not be the pride of the highways...

    First post, lots of questions

Thanks for the replies everyone. It seems that what I have heard I could potentially make was only smoke being blown up my rear. Just so you all know, I have no kids, but the wife isn't going to quit her job to go trucking. She makes good money, will have a good retirement, and the insurance...

    First post, lots of questions

Hey everyone. I have been reading posts here for a few weeks and I am left with mixed feelings about trying expediting. Let me first tell you about me. I live in southern Ohio, 1.5 hours east of Cincinnati, 1.5 hours south of Columbus. I am 28, have had a class A cdl for 6 years or so. I am...
