    Sylectus

Hey thanks to both of you. This is good info. I've got another 3 months to wait on my MC anniversary before I can lease to Fedex CC, Landstar doesn't lease Sprinters anymore apparently. So in the meantime, I think scraping by on scraps might be my only option. My actual cost is about $.72...

    Sylectus

I began subscribing to Sylectus about 6 months ago with the goal of expanding my local delivery business into new areas. While I got my insurance and authorities in order, I managed to get a few intrastate jobs here and there, and was somewhat encouraged by the results I was getting in terms of...

Fleet owners that pays by W2.

Yes, all of my local drivers are employees, so I prefer to keep things uniform. Local drivers are paid hourly, OTR drivers are paid by the mile.

Fleet owners that pays by W2.

I've only got a Sprinter expediting at this point. Just dipping our toes into this side of the business. I'll be weighing my options in a few months once I decide whether or not it's even worth it. My local delivery business is stable, profitable, and doesn't keep me up at night. I have a...

Fleet owners that pays by W2.

I do. I pay Sprinter drivers $.325 p/mi to start for all miles, loaded and unloaded, non-cdl straight trucks $.35 p/mi. I pay all fuel, tolls, and vehicle expenses. Goal is to get everyone at least 2k miles a week so they can clear $650-$700. Unfortunately we operate out of the US Southwest, so...

    Paying someone to outfit Transit

Thanks folks. I'm guessing there'll be some trial and error, and a lot of acting on driver feedback. The van I've got right now has a 650 lb lift gate hanging off the back, so that cuts down my capacity quite a bit, but it's necessary for the application it's being used for right now. Anyone...

    Paying someone to outfit Transit

I've looked at a lot of threads with different setups for Sprinters on these forums, and some of you guys are just geniuses. Your problem solving is based on actually encountering the problems, and paying your dues inside the vans, and that experience is really valuable. Unfortunately I'm not...

    Driver Pay

I have no idea what that means.

    Driver Pay

I'm paying for fuel, tolls, etc. I've got sources for work that will initially take the driver east, and then pinball him around the east coast and midwest until it's time for him to come back. Plenty of stuff going east to west. If he's gotta deadhead back from Texas or California, I'm prepared...

    Driver Pay

Hey there. I've got a local delivery company in Arizona, and I've recently taken all the necessary steps to start expediting. I've been turning down loads left and right because I don't have the drivers yet. I'm trying to figure out how to structure the pay. I was an independent contractor...
